Sealed grease head and top drive guide
The sealed grease head provides a grease compartment with no oiler or oil lines. The grease compartment is sealed by a top seal and a bottom seal that seals between the inner barrel and the outer barrel. The sealed grease head provides a bottom seal that seals the grease compartment. A rubber adapter secures the seal while also securing the rubber to the inner barrel.
Drill String Circulation Apparatus
A drill string circulation apparatus has a sleeve member with an elongated tubular body and a longitudinal bore, with an outer diameter suitable for being sealingly gripped by a blowout preventer. A drill string has an outer diameter sized to fit within the sleeve member bore, and has one or more seals disposed on an exterior surface. The seals are sized to create a seal between said sleeve member and the drill string, when the drill string and seals are positioned within the sleeve member bore, while said drill string is still capable of reciprocation and/or rotation within the sleeve member when the seals are within the sleeve member bore.
Rotating control device system
A rotating control device (RCD) system includes a housing having a bore, a seal element positioned within the housing, a piston assembly supported within the housing and configured to drive the seal element to seal the bore, and a bearing assembly supported within the housing and configured to enable the seal element to rotate relative to the housing. The bearing assembly includes a first bearing section positioned between the housing and the seal element and a second bearing section positioned between a piston of the piston assembly and the seal element. The piston assembly is configured to selectively actuate the seal element into a first configuration, where the seal element extends into the bore and seals with a tubular therein, and a second configuration, where the seal element extends entirely through the bore and seals the bore without a tubular extending therein.
POLISHED ROD ELEVATORS, AND RELATED METHODS OF USE
A polished rod elevator has a top lift platform defining a polished rod passage and a mouth to laterally receive a polished rod into the polished rod passage; a plurality of linear actuators depending below the top lift platform and radially spaced from an axis of the polished rod passage to define a production tree receiving gap; and a plurality of arcuate wellhead flange mounting base plates connected to base ends of the plurality of linear actuators. Related methods of use and kits are discussed.
Rotary Control Device with Self-Contained Hydraulic Reservoir
An improved rotating control device, having a spool and removable bearing assembly, provides a self-contained hydraulic reservoir that can be operated with standard air pressures from an air hose or other readily available source, eliminating traditional surface hydraulic power units (HPUs). Hydraulically operated pistons can be spring biased to close latching elements around the bearing assembly. Hydraulic fluid can be forced from the self-contained hydraulic reservoir through flow paths to hydraulic cylinders to force the pistons to retract radially outward to release the bearing assembly for removal. The bearing assembly can include a lubricant reservoir to supply gravity-fed or pressurized lubrication for internal roller bearings. The bearing assembly can further include a rotary seal in several embodiments that efficiently reduces risks of dropping bolts on personnel and in the wellbore.
ROTATING CONTROL DEVICE
A rotating control device wherein the bearing assembly can be secured to the bowl by rotationally coupling the bearing assembly with the bowl. When the bearing assembly is rotated in a first direction about a longitudinal axis relative to the bowl, an interlocking interface is formed between the inner surface of the bowl and the outer surface of the bearing assembly. The interlocking interface can be released by rotating the bearing assembly in a second direction relative to the bowl. The bowl comprises a rotary guide for engaging and rotating the bearing assembly. The rotary guide and the bearing assembly have an alignment profile for facilitating alignment of the bearing assembly with the bowl. The bearing assembly has a sealing element with axially extending fingers to provide internal structural support for the seal.
DOWNHOLE SWIVEL APPARATUS AND METHOD
What is provided is a method and apparatus which can be detachably connected to an annular blowout preventer thereby separating the drilling fluid or mud into upper and lower sections and allowing the fluid to be displaced in two stages, such as while the drill string is being rotated and/or reciprocated. In one embodiment the sleeve can be rotatably and sealably connected to a mandrel. The swivel can be incorporated into a drill or well string and enabling string sections both above and below the sleeve to be rotated in relation to the sleeve. In one embodiment the drill or well string does not move in a longitudinal direction relative to the swivel. In one embodiment, the drill or well string does move longitudinally relative to the sleeve of the swivel.
Mud saver and metal collector bell nipple
A bell nipple assembly includes a tubular main body and a catcher assembly positioned above the tubular main body that includes an upper opening with a diameter greater than an inner diameter of the tubular main body and one or more inwardly sloping inner surfaces configured to catch fluids falling from the rig floor or from an exterior surface of the drill string and to direct the fluids to the tubular main body. The bell nipple assembly also includes one or more magnets configured to direct a magnetic field toward an interior of the catcher assembly and to attract a metallic object falling within the interior of the catcher assembly towards the inwardly sloping inner surfaces.
Rotating control device with integrated cooling for sealed bearings
A pressure control device can include an outer housing, a bearing assembly with bearings to rotatably support an inner barrel in the outer housing, a heat exchanger, and fluid passages that communicate between the bearings and the heat exchanger, and a latch assembly configured to releasably secure the bearing assembly in the outer housing. The latch assembly can include a heat exchanger configured to exchange heat with the bearing assembly heat exchanger. Another pressure control device can include a bearing assembly with bearings to rotatably support an inner barrel in the outer housing, fluid passages that communicate with space adjacent the bearings, a pump in communication with the fluid passages, and a gear train connected between the pump and a ring gear secured to the inner barrel.
WELLBORE PROTECTOR RAM
A wellbore protector ram device includes a plurality of blocks that move in a plane orthogonal to an extension direction of a drill string and block junk from passing through a body of the wellbore protector ram device. The wellbore protector ram further includes a plurality of pistons that actuate, thereby locking and preventing movement of the plurality of blocks, and a plurality of springs that press the plurality of blocks against the drill string when the plurality of blocks are unlocked. The body includes an opening and encases the plurality of pistons and a plurality of springs. The drill string passes through the opening of the body.
