Implementations described and claimed herein provide apparatus and techniques for providing a seal for a polished rod. One example apparatus is a stuffing box. The stuffing box generally includes: a first flange configured to surround a polished rod; a second flange configured to surround the polished rod; a seal package disposed between the first flange and the second flang, the seal package being configured to surround and connect to the polished rod; and a flexible membrane surrounding the seal package, the flexible membrane being connected to at least a portion of the seal package.

Apparatus and method relating to managed pressure drilling

The integration joint assembly includes an integration joint body (10) having a through bore (16), the body being for connection with a riser system. The integration joint assembly permits a tubular work string (50; 54) to pass there through such that there is an annulus created between the inner through bore (16) of the integration joint body (10) and the outer surface of the tubular work string (50; 54). The integration joint body (10) can also include at least two (300, 200) and more preferably three sealing devices (300, 200, 100) within its through bore (16). A method of drilling is also described as including the steps of installing an integration joint assembly in a riser string and running a tubular work string (50; 54) through the through bore (16) thereof.

A harsh environment integrated MPD riser joint includes a dynamic annular sealing system, a static annular sealing system disposed directly below the dynamic annular sealing system, and a flow spool, or equivalent thereof, disposed directly below the static annular sealing system. The dynamic annular sealing system may be a conventional ACD-type, RCD-type, or other conventional annular sealing system. The static annular sealing system may include one or more annular packer systems and one or more connection sealing elements that engage drill pipe during connection or non-rotation operations only. The dynamic annular sealing system may maintain annular pressure during drilling operations while the static annular sealing system is disengaged. The static annular sealing system may maintain annular pressure during connection operations while the dynamic annular sealing system is disengaged. Advantageously, the static annular sealing system is capable of withstanding jarring heaving action encountered in harsh environments.

Riser adapter quick connection assembly

A Jack-up drilling rig or land drilling rig riser system with quick connectors that can be used to rapidly install and de-install RCD housings between the BOP and the drill floor. The quick connector design can handle different bore diameters without changing the external design of the connector.
