Methods and systems for fracing
11555377 · 2023-01-17 · ·

A frac plug with a flapper positioned within a shearable housing. More specifically, embodiments are directed towards an upper portion of the shearable housing that is configured to be separated from an insert responsive to flowing back through the frac plug.

Split flow probe for reactive reservoir sampling

A downhole tool comprises at least one inlet and a first pump coupled to the at least one inlet via a first flow line. The first pump is to pump at a first pump rate to extract fluid via the at least one inlet from a subsurface formation in which a borehole is created and in which the downhole tool is to be positioned. A sample chamber is coupled to the inlet via a second flow line, and a second pump is coupled to the inlet via the second flow line. The second pump is to pump at a second pump rate to extract the fluid via the at least one inlet from the subsurface formation and for storage in the sample chamber. The first pump rate is greater than the second pump rate.

Thermoplastic with swellable metal for enhanced seal

Swellable metal assemblies that have a reactive metal and a polymer, and are located around or inside an oilfield tubular. The oilfield tubular and the swellable metal assembly can be provided in a wellbore to form a seal therein.

High-expansion well sealing using seal seat extender
11591873 · 2023-02-28 · ·

A sealing tool, system and method for sealing a wellbore achieves increased expansion with the use of a seal seat extender. In one example, a seal seat (e.g., a ball seat) defines an axial flow bore in fluid communication with the wellbore to be sealed, a sealing profile for receiving a loose sealing element (e.g., a ball or dart) to close the axial flow bore, and a tapered outer profile. The seal seat extender is initially disposed against the seal seat and is expandable against the seal seat in response to an axial setting force, such as by sliding up the tapered outer profile of the seal seat and/or buckling outwardly, in response to a setting force. A compliant annular packing element disposed against the seal seat extender is deformable outwardly into sealing engagement with the wellbore in response to the axial setting force.

Fluid control assemblies including at least one ring. The fluid control assemblies are used within core barrel assemblies to: provide an indication that a core barrel assembly has reached a drilling position and is latched to a drill string; serve as a mechanical shut-off valve that restricts the flow of drilling fluid within a core barrel assembly; and/or serve as a grease seal at the connection between an inner tube cap and an inner tube that receives a core sample.

An apparatus has been described, including a tubular housing including opposing first and second end portions and defining an interior surface, an exterior surface, and an internal flow passage; an open inflow area extending radially through the tobular housing and adapted to distribute the radial flow of a fluid from the internal flow passage to the wellbore; a closure member extending within the tubular housing and adapted to cover the open inflow area; and a filter defining a plurality of gaps, the filter concentrically disposed about the exterior surface of the tubular housing and extending axially along at least the open inflow area. In an exemplary embodiment, the open inflow area includes a plurality of openings formed radially through the tubular housing and defining a tubular injection interval extending axially along the tubular housing. A system and assembly have also been described, each incorporating elements of the above described apparatus.
