An actuation assembly positionable within a wellbore may comprise a primary piston coupled to a first spring. The primary piston may be positionable in a first position in which it is coupled to a release latch for restraining the release latch from actuating a ball valve mechanism. The actuation assembly may also include a locking piston coupled to a second spring and a locking mechanism positioned between the primary piston and the locking piston. The locking mechanism may be moveable between a restrained position and an unrestrained position, wherein in the restrained position the locking mechanism prevents the primary piston from moving a predetermined amount in a first direction in response to an application of pressure from a surface of the wellbore that is greater than a predetermined amount of pressure.

Wellbore system, a member and method of making same

A member that is a single element for controlling flow through an inflow control device, has anisotropic density configured to move the member relative to the inflow control device such that the inflow control device allows, fully blocks, or partially blocks flow from a zone to a production string based on a density of a fluid flowing into the inflow control device from the zone.

An apparatus for use in fracturing wells includes a body defining and coupled to a wellhead of a well extending through a subsurface formation with the flow path being in communication with a wellbore of the well. The apparatus includes a flow meter in communication with the flow path and configured to measure a flow attribute of fluid from the wellbore along the flow path. The apparatus further includes a computing device communicatively coupled to the flow meter. The computing device is operable to receive a flow attribute measurement from the flow meter and to transmit an indicator in response to determining that the flow attribute measurement indicates interaction of a fracture in the subsurface formation with the well.

FLOW ACTIVATED ON-OFF CONTROL SUB FOR PERSEUS CUTTER

A wellbore system includes method of cutting a casing in a wellbore. A string is disposed in the casing, the string including a cutting tool and an activation sub coupled to the cutting tool. The cutting tool includes a ball seat and a cutter. The activation sub includes a control piston disposed therein. The control piston has a ball at an end thereof. The control piston is configured to move within the activation sub to engage the ball to the ball seat when a flow rate of a fluid through the control piston is above a flow rate activation threshold, wherein engaging the ball to the ball seat creates a pressure differential across the ball seat that moves the ball seat to extend the cutter from the cutting tool.

A well system includes a tubular string comprising a plurality of tubular segments and positioned in a wellbore drilled into a subterranean zone, and a landing sub connected to a bottom end of one of the plurality of tubular segments. The landing sub includes a landing sub central bore and a landing sub locking profile on an inner surface of the landing sub central bore. The well system also includes a valve assembly configured to be pumped down the tubular string by fluid flowing in a downhole direction through the tubular string and to land within the landing sub central bore. The valve assembly includes a main body with a valve central bore and a flapper configured to pivot between an open position and a closed position. In the closed positon the flapper seals against a flapper seat and blocks fluid from flowing in an uphole direction through the valve central bore. The valve assembly also includes a rupture disc positioned in the valve central bore and configured to rupture in response to an application of a predetermined fluid pressure and configured to block fluid from flowing through the valve central bore when in an unruptured state. The valve assembly also includes one or more valve body setting dogs positioned on an outer surface of the main body and configured to lock into the landing sub locking profile and thereby limit axial movement of the main body within the landing sub.
