Mechanical Drain for Oilfield Service
A mechanically actuated tubing drain for service with oil wells, water wells, gas wells and/or thermal wells has a configuration in which the drain opens by operation of a bumper member which may be pulled upwardly to move a sleeve member which is initially positioned adjacent to a drain port, thereby sealing the drain port. Once the bumper member pushes the sleeve member upwardly, any fluid in the tubing above the drain port will drain from the tubing. The bumper member may be pulled upwardly either by upward movement of a rod string or by operation of a wireline or slickline tool. The mechanically actuated drain does not require a tubing anchor to operate.
Energy Retaining Toe Valve
A downhole tool comprises a mechanical energy storage component that retains energy supplied by a first pressure increase and transfers such energy to actuate another component of the tool. In one aspect, the tool is a toe valve that is activated for opening ports thereon upon application of a first pressure and actuated to open the ports upon application of a second pressure lower than the first pressure.

Filter sub for downhole applications
A filter assembly can include a filter element and a fluid inlet for fluid to flow through the filter element. The filter assembly can include bypass ports that are in a closed position from bypass port plugs until the filter screen becomes sufficiently clogged such that the fluid is restricted or prevented from flowing through the filter screen, which causes pressure to build up within the filter assembly. The increase in pressure can cause the bypass port plug to open the bypass ports such that fluid can flow through the bypass ports. The filter assembly can include a debris sleeve that partially or wholly surrounds the filter screen.

System and method for wireline shifting
Apparatus and methods for autonomously shifting a downhole sliding sleeve. A shift tool includes a shifter arm, an artificial neural network, and a control circuit. The artificial neural network is trained to identify engagement of the shifter arm with a shifting feature of a sliding sleeve. The control circuit is configured to extend the shifter arm at a first pressure for seeking engagement with the shifting feature of the sliding sleeve, and responsive to the artificial neural network recognizing engagement of the shifter arm with the shifting feature of the sliding sleeve, extend the shifter arm at a second pressure for shifting the sliding sleeve.

DOWNHOLE TOOL MEMBER COMPRISING A BRANCHED POLY(HYDROXYACID)
The invention relates to downhole tools comprising members comprising branched poly(hydroxyacid) polymers provided with improved degradation rate when in contact with water.
Wellbore system having an annulus safety valve
An annulus safety valve assembly for controlling gas flow in a wellbore annulus that includes a passage, a check valve in the passage, and an actuator that is selectively changed between first and second states. The actuator is bi-stable, and requires no energy to remain in either state. When the actuator is put into one of the states, the check valve configuration is changed from one way flow to two way flow. Reconfiguring the check valve into the two way flow configuration vents lift gas from inside the annulus that is below the check valve.
