DOWNHOLE TOOL ASSEMBLIES FOR DRILLING WELLBORES AND METHODS FOR OPERATING THE SAME
20220205339 · 2022-06-30 · ·

A downhole tool assembly coupled to a drill string includes a drill string motor that rotates the drill string, the downhole tool assembly including a tool body defining a perimeter, one or more cutting elements positioned on the perimeter of the tool body, where the one or more cutting elements are positionable between an extended position, in which the one or more cutting elements extend outwardly from the perimeter of the tool body, and a retracted position, where the one or more cutting elements are positioned further outward from the perimeter of the tool body in the extended position than the retracted position, and a tool motor coupled to the tool body, where the tool motor is structurally configured to rotate the tool body as fluid passes through the tool motor.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR CLEANING A WELLBORE

A method and apparatus for cleaning a wellbore. The apparatus is a jet sub including an engine, a flow diverter and mixing throat. The engine propels a driving fluid at a first end of the jet sub towards a second end of the jet sub along a longitudinal axis of the jet sub. The flow diverter redirects the driving fluid by an redirection angle that is an obtuse angle. The mixing throat receives a mixed fluid including the driving fluid from the flow diverter and induced fluid drawn into the mixing throat by the driving fluid. The mixed fluid is injected into an annulus of the wellbore at the obtuse angle.

Wellbore system for interventionaless cleanout

A system and method for cleaning a wellbore. The system includes a production device and a cleaning assembly coupled to a bottom end of the production device. The production device and cleaning assembly are conveyed to a target location in the wellbore. The cleaning assembly is activated to clean the wellbore with the production device disposed at the target location.

Scale sampler plunger

A scale sampler plunger having an upper end and a downhole end for a plunger lift system in a tubing string comprising: a solid cylindrical member at the upper end of the scale sampler plunger configured to remove a plurality of contaminants in the tubing string; a lower sub at the downhole end of the scale sampler plunger threaded to the solid cylindrical member, wherein the lower sub comprises a first section threaded to a second section extending axially from the first section; wherein a fluid stream carrying solids flows from the tubing string into an entry opening located in the second section; a deflector disposed in a chamber in the lower sub, wherein the deflector causes the fluid stream carrying solids to deposit the solids in the chamber in the lower sub; and an anchor disposed in the entry opening, wherein the anchor is fastened to the deflector.

SYSTEM FOR SETTING A LOWER COMPLETION AND CLEANING A CASING ABOVE THE LOWER COMPLETION

A downhole system includes a lower completion having at least one tubular including a first end and a second end terminating at a shoe. The at least one tubular defining a flow path. A packer is arranged at the first end. A fluid loss control valve (FLCV) is arranged between the packer and the shoe. A screen system is arranged between the FLCV and the shoe. The screen system includes a screen and a non-mechanically operated flow control valve that selectively isolates the flow path from formation fluids passing through the screen. A wellbore clean out string is insertable into the lower completion. The wellbore clean out string includes a selectively activated casing cleaner and a setting tool. The selectively activated casing cleaner is spaced from the setting tool.

A tool includes a body, a cleaning system including nozzles coupled to the body and configured to spray a fluid onto an interior of a wellsite component, and an inspection system coupled to the body. The inspection system is configured to capture images, video, or both of the wellsite component that are to be used to determine whether the wellsite component is clean after being sprayed with the fluid.

Casing exit anchor with redundant activation system

A method of activating an anchor with an anchor activation system including a housing having an outer surface and an inner surface defining an internal chamber includes introducing a first activation force to a trigger comprising a piston arranged in a piston cylinder extending radially through the outer surface to the internal chamber, sensing that the first activation force did not activate the anchor, and introducing a second activation force to the trigger without reconfiguring the anchor activation system to break a shear element retaining the piston with the first activation to release the piston and activate the anchor.
