Process of providing a cooked caramel slurry for coating
Cooked and uncooked caramel slurries and products prepared using the cooked caramel slurries, and methods of preparing caramel slurries and coating a cooked caramel slurry onto a food piece.
Sweetened food product and methods of preparation
Described are coated food products having a sugar (sucrose) coating, the coating exhibiting desirable levels of sucrose crystallinity and a desired sucrose ratio (total sucrose per total soluble solids), as well as methods or preparing such coated food products and coating.
Flavor elements and methods of providing nonvaporized flavor to electronic vaporizers and e-cigarettes
The present disclosure describes a flavor element configured for providing flavor to a user of an electronic vaporizer, along with nicotine reduction methods. The flavor element includes a flavor material configured to provide the flavor and is configured to attach to the electronic vaporizer. When attached to the electronic vaporizer and during inhalation by the user using the electronic vaporizer, the flavor element is configured to provide the flavor to the user in parallel with an inhalable aerosol provided by the electronic vaporizer. The inhalable aerosol is provided by the electronic vaporizer by at least partially vaporizing a vaporizable substance via a vapor element. The flavor provided via the flavor material is separate from the vaporizable substance.

SOLUBLE FIBER LOZENGE
A soluble fiber lozenge in includes a body that is partially or wholly receivable in an oral cavity. The body includes a soluble-fiber matrix and one or more additives in the soluble-fiber matrix. A soluble fiber lozenge provided herein includes at least 40 weight percent of soluble fiber. Soluble fiber in soluble fiber lozenge can include maltodextrin. The soluble fiber lozenge is adapted to release one or more additives from the body when the body is received within the oral cavity of a consumer and exposed to saliva. A method of making soluble fiber lozenges includes forming a molten mixture of at least 40 weight percent soluble fiber, one or more additives, and less than 15 weight percent water while maintaining a mixture temperature of less than 200° C. and portioning the molten mixture into a plurality of soluble fiber lozenges.
ANTHOCYANIN-BASED COLORANT COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS OF USE THEREOF
Edible colorant compositions containing a monoacylated anthocyanin of Compound I and methods of use are provided. The colorant compositions include at least the monoacylated anthocyanin colorant of Compound I extracted from red cabbage and a metal ion, and have a pH from about 6.0 to about 8.0. The colorant compositions can be derived from a non-artificial product and provide a stable, blue colorant that can be used in food products. Specifically, the monoacylated anthocyanin colorant provides color characteristics similar to those provided by the artificial blue colorant, FD&C Blue No. 1.
Methods and Apparatus for Powder and/or Topping Deposition
A production line for powder coating items, such as food pieces, having a conveyor and a powder depositor arranged having a powder reservoir, a screen, a vibratory actuator to apply intermittent vibrations to the screen to cause powder to pass through apertures in the screen; and a controller to control the interval between the intermittent vibrations so that powder is deposited predominantly onto the items as they pass below the screen.
Dual-spray reduced sugar coating system and method
A system and method for applying a reduced sugar coating to a food product is provided. The system uses separate applications (simultaneous or sequential) of a non-sucrose carbohydrate syrup from a first applicator and a sucrose syrup from a second applicator. The dual applications of the syrups are applied without an active drying step between applications. The process results in a coated food product with reduced clumping and a desired crystallized appearance even with the reduced levels of sugar.
Confectionery item for applying an edible temporary tattoo to a person's tongue and method of producing the confectionery item
A confectionery item for applying an edible temporary tattoo to a person's tongue, including a release medium and an edible substrate configured to be insertable into the person's mouth, the release medium being securable to the substrate and coated with a layer of edible hardener onto which a transfer is printed, wherein the transfer is a representation formed of edible ink printed onto the layer of edible hardener and configured to be transferred to the person's tongue during contact therewith.
