Nozzle for steam injection and steam choking
11525337 · 2022-12-13 · ·

A nozzle for controlling the flow of fluids into and/or out of a hydrocarbon-bearing reservoir comprises a fluid passage extending between first and second openings. The passage comprises a flow adjusting region for increasing the velocity of fluids injected into the reservoir and for choking steam produced from the reservoir.

A tubular joint installable on a tubular string disposable within a wellbore. The tubular joint may include includes a perforated section, a filter section, and a packer. The perforated section may be proximate a first end and may include a first plurality of orifices to allow fluid communication between a bore of the tubular joint and a first area surrounding the tubular joint proximate the perforated section. The filter section may be proximate a second end and may include a filter assembly sized to filter fluid flowing into the bore via a second plurality of orifices from a second area proximate the filter section. The packer may be disposed between the perforated section and the filter section and may be operable to isolate the first area from the second area when the tubular string is disposed within the well.

Systems and methods for opening screen joints

Example systems and methods are described that operate to open screen joints using mechanically-generated perforations for beginning fluid production. In an example system, a screen joint is deployed in a production tubing within a wellbore. The screen joint includes a screen element and a blank housing that are coupled to an exterior surface of a non]perforated base pipe. Further, the screen joint includes a locator profile positioned along an interior surface of the non]perforated base pipe. A perforator is deployed within the screen joint that includes a mechanical perforator and a locator for engaging with the locator profile to position the mechanical perforator under the blank housing.

Inflow control system

A technique facilitates the production of well fluid. According to an embodiment, an inflow assembly may be deployed downhole with, for example, completion equipment used in the production of well fluid. The inflow assembly comprises a first inflow control device and a second inflow control device disposed in series along a flow path routed between an exterior and an interior of the inflow assembly. As well fluid flows into an interior of the inflow assembly along the flow path, the first inflow control device and the second inflow control device perform different tasks with respect to controlling fluid flow. The different tasks may be selected to, for example, facilitate production of well fluid while protecting the completion equipment.

Wireless electronic flow control node used in a screen joint with shunts

A completion assembly having a wireless adjustable electronic flow control node disposed along the sand screen base pipe to control flow of a fluid through a shunt tube assembly adjacent a sand screen. Each electronic flow control node includes a valve that can be adjusted by an electric actuator powered by a power harvesting mechanism disposed in a flow path of the completion assembly. A wireless transmitter receives a control signal to control the electric actuator. The control signal may be transmitted to open or close a packing tube or a transport tube of the shunt tube assembly.

Liner retrieval tool and method

A string includes a pipe that is connected to an expansion mechanism and a retrieval tool that is connected to the pipe above the expansion mechanism. The retrieval tool includes a carrier that can selectively latch on an expandable liner and one or more actuators. The retrieval tool can ensure latching of the carrier while the expandable liner is above the Blow-out Preventer. The retrieval tool can prevent accidental latching of the carrier on the expandable liner during the expansion of the liner. By manipulating the pipe, the retrieval tool can force the carrier's release from the expandable liner.
