TOE VALVE WITH VENTED ATMOSPHERIC CHAMBER
20220364438 · 2022-11-17 ·

A toe valve for use in a wellbore includes: a tubular mandrel; a housing extending along a periphery of the mandrel; couplings at longitudinal ends of the toe valve for assembly as part of a casing or liner string; a valve piston disposed in an annulus formed between the housing and the mandrel, movable between an open position and a closed position, and disposed between a valve port of the housing and a valve port of the mandrel in the closed position; an atmospheric chamber for facilitating movement of the valve piston to the open position; a vent port formed through the housing and in fluid communication with the atmospheric chamber; and a flow control device disposed in the vent port and operable to prevent fluid flow from the wellbore into the atmospheric chamber and allow fluid flow from the atmospheric chamber into the wellbore.

OPTICAL CABLE, OPTICAL CABLE MONITORING SYSTEM, AND WELL MONITORING METHOD

An optical cable includes: an optical fiber for sensing deformation of hydrocarbon absorbing resin having a property of expanding by absorbing hydrocarbon in oil; a strand provided so as to surround the outer circumference of the optical fiber; and hydrocarbon absorbing resin filling a space between the optical fiber and the strand. The optical cable configured as described above is installed along the depth direction of a well that is a measurement subject, over the entire range thereof, and a backscatter light frequency shift signal from the optical fiber is measured by a backscatter light measurement device, to detect presence/absence of leakage of oil from the well over the entire range in the depth direction of the well.

The present disclosure provides a valve seat assembly for a fluid end of a hydraulic fracturing pump. The valve seat assembly includes a valve seat having a substantially cylindrical body defined along an axis. The valve seat has a first seat end and a second seat end with a through bore extending between the first and second seat ends. The cylindrical body has an inner cylinder surface and an exterior cylinder surface with an annular flange formed along the exterior cylinder surface adjacent the first seat end. The through bore expands from a first diameter to a second diameter adjacent the first seat end. The valve seat assembly further includes a leak detection notch formed in the exterior cylinder surface between the annular flange and the second seat end.

Automated determination of valve closure and inspection of a flowline

The disclosed embodiments include systems and methods for recording a pressure profile using a sensor connected to a flowline, generating a pressure pulse in the flowline by closing a valve connected to the flowline, calculating a first derivative and a second derivative of the pressure profile, and determining a parameter of the pressure pulse based on the first derivative and the second derivative of the pressure profile.
