Milling systems and methods for a milling machine
A method of adjusting milling properties of a rotor for a milling machine includes accessing the rotor. The rotor includes a drum and a plurality of cutting assemblies, and each cutting assembly includes a tool block, a tool holder, and a cutting bit. The method also includes adjusting a rotational orientation of a plurality of cutting bits and tool holders relative to the corresponding tool blocks, and enclosing the rotor.

MILLING TOOL
An improved sleeve for securing a milling bit to a milling tool base is described. The base may include a lower portion that mates to a surface milling drum and an upper portion with a borehole that accepts the sleeve. The sleeve may include a deflectable rear portion that may include slot tails. When inserting the sleeve into the front of the borehole, the slot tails on the rear of the sleeve may deflect inwardly. The slot tails may then at least partially return to their resting position as they exit the rear of the borehole to lock the sleeve into place. The sleeve may hold a milling bit.
Drill bit for boring earth and other hard materials
The present disclosure provides a cutting head adapted to removably couple to a bit body of a drill bit assembly. The cutting head includes a leading cutting tip for cutting into earth and a trailing receiving portion for receiving a second end of the bit body in an internal cavity defined by the trailing receiving portion to allow the cutting head to be removably coupled to the second end of the bit body.
Tool for installing a bit on and/or deinstalling a bit from a bit holder system of a milling machine
The invention relates to a tool for installing a bit on and/or deinstalling a bit from a bit holder system of a milling machine, in particular a road milling machine, having at least one initiator with which installation and/or deinstallation of a bit is initiated. Provision is made that the tool comprises a detection device having at least one counting device; and that the detection device is designed to detect a number of bits deinstalled using the tool and/or a number of bits installed using the tool. The invention also relates to a corresponding bit holder system and to a method for monitoring wear. With the tool and the bit holder system, additional information regarding bit changes that have been carried out is made available to a user.

Cutting assembly
This disclosure relates to a cutting assembly for mining or extraction. The cutting assembly comprises a circular disk cutter (18). Cutting elements are arranged around a circumferential surface of the disk cutter, each seated in a tool holder (24). The orientation of the seat is such that the cutting element (22) points tangentially in or towards the intended direction of rotation.
MILLING SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR A MILLING MACHINE
A milling system for a milling machine includes at least one cutting assembly configured to be coupled to a drum. Each of the cutting assemblies includes a base portion and an impact portion. The base portion includes a standoff coupled to the drum, a first base block coupled to the standoff, and a second base block coupled to the standoff at a position upstream of the first base block in a direction of rotation of the drum and at angle from the first base block. The impact portion includes a cutting bit and a tool holder coupled to the first base block, and a protective element coupled to the second base block.
