TUNNEL BORING MACHINE AND TUNNELLING METHOD
A tunnel boring machine having a cutting wheel equipped with a number of excavation tools provided with sensor units and, in a corresponding tunnelling method, only substantially fully worn excavation tools are able to be replaced using a data processing device designed with an advancement planning unit by detecting the current state of the excavation tools and predicting the state of the excavation tools on tool replacement predication planes lying in the advancing direction.
PROJECTILE AUGMENTED BORING SYSTEM
Systems for forming or extending a tunnel or shaft within a working surface may include a ram accelerator assembly for accelerating a projectile into geologic material to weaken a region of the geologic material. A cutting tool may then be used to remove the weakened material more rapidly, with lower energy use and less wear on the cutting tool than use of the cutting tool independently. A collection assembly may be used to move debris away from the working surface while the projectile and cutting operations are performed to enable generally continuous use of the system. The number of projectiles that are accelerated and the rate at which projectiles are used may be controlled based on characteristics of the geologic material and the rate at which created debris may be removed, allowing an operation to be optimized for speed, cost, stability, or other factors.
Cutting assembly for a mining machine
A cutting assembly for a mining machine includes a central hub having at least one arm extending radially outwards from the central hub. The arm includes at least one cutting means carrier movably arranged for radial movement along the arm and a primary actuator configured to control the radial position of the cutting means carrier. The cutting assembly further includes a locking means movable between an unlocked and a locked position, wherein the locking means in its locked position locks the cutting means carrier to the arm such that radial movement of the cutting means carrier is prevented. The locking means includes at least one locking member provided on the arm such that the locking member is movable between an extended position and a withdrawn position. The locking member in the extended position extends to engage the cutting means carrier such that movement of the cutting means carrier is prevented.
Methods and systems for controlling the heading of a mining machine
Methods and systems for controlling the heading of a mining machine while the mining machine performs a cutting operation. One system includes a cutting system and a set of left and right tracks of the mining machine. The system also includes a lidar sensor mounted to the mining machine. The system also includes an electronic processor configured to receive the data from the lidar sensor. The electronic processor is also configured to determine a current heading of the mining machine based on the data received from the lidar sensor and compare the current heading to a target heading of the mining machine. In response to the current heading not being different from the target heading of the mining machine by a predetermined amount, the electronic processor is configured to control the mining machine to adjust the current heading of the mining machine.
MACHINE GUIDANCE INTEGRATION
Disclosed herein is a system for controlling a mining machine within an underground mine. A rotatable laser source sends laser light and return light sensor receives reflected laser light and provides an indication of distance and return light intensity at multiple different rotation angles. A co-ordinate reference point comprises a pattern of varying reflectivity and provides at least a 2D co-ordinate position. A processor determines an absolute co-ordinate position in space of the mining machine as the mining machine moves through the underground mine. The processor collects intensity values of reflected laser light for multiple respective rotation angles and detects the pattern of the reference point in the multiple intensity values of reflected laser light, and determines the absolute co-ordinate position in space of the mining machine based on spatial information of the detected pattern.
TUNNEL BORING ROBOT AND REMOTE MOBILE TERMINAL COMMAND SYSTEM
A tunnel boring robot includes a tunnel boring machine, a sensing unit, an intelligent decision unit, and a controller unit. The sensing unit, the intelligent decision unit and the controller unit are disposed at the tunnel boring machine. The sensing unit is configured to sense, in real time, boring operation data of a current cycle during which the tunnel boring machine is working according to set boring parameter information. The intelligent decision unit is configured to receive the boring operation data sent by the sensing unit, and generate the set boring parameter information for a next cycle according to a preset prediction algorithm, the boring operation data and a desired boring effect. The controller unit is configured to receive the set boring parameter information, and control the tunnel boring machine to perform a boring operation for the next cycle according to the set boring parameter information.
TUNNELING FOR UNDERGROUND POWER AND PIPELINES
The present application describes a rapid burrowing robot (RBR) that can dig tunnels using ultra high temperature rotating plasma torches.
LIDAR-BASED CONVERGENCE DEFORMATION MONITORING SYSTEM FOR SURROUNDING ROCK AROUND TBM SHIELD REGION
A lidar-based convergence deformation monitoring system for surrounding rock around a TBM shield region, including a data acquisition module. The data acquisition module includes: a lidar, a push-rod motor, an H-bridge circuit, a power supply module, an ARM chip, a guide rod, a linear bearing, a tempered glass cover and a protective case. The lidar and the push-rod motor are connected to a lidar connector to acquire raw data of the surrounding rock and store the raw data in the ARM chip. A middle portion of a top plate of the protective case allows the lidar to extend out of the protective case. The protective case is fastened to an inner wall of the TBM shield through two mounting brackets on both sides of the protective case, and the inner wall facilitates the lidar to extend out of the protective case to perform a measurement.
OPTIMIZATION OF BORING BY A TUNNEL BORING MACHINE AS A FUNCTION OF GROUND/MACHINE INTERACTIONS
The invention relates to a method (S10) for optimizing the characteristics of a tunnel boring machine, particularly a tunnel boring machine of the slurry pressure or VD type, said method comprising the following steps: S0: determining a ground/machine interaction model, S11: instantaneous measurement of the set of specific boring parameters of the tunnel boring machine, S13: determining the group of individuals corresponding to the boring parameters measured in step S11 by means of the ground/machine interaction model, S14: optimizing the characteristics of the tunnel boring machine as a function of the group of individuals thus determined.
