Corrosion-resistant magnetic article
A magnetic article with a corrosion resistant barrier formed from a poly(tetrafluoro-p-xylene) conformal coating or from a parylene conformal coating having a melting point of at least about 430° C. and a moisture vapor transmission less than about 0.5 g-mm/m.sup.2/day at 90% RH and 37° C., the conformal coating being covered with a polysulfone thermoplastic overlayer.
PARTLY RESORBABLE TISSUE CLIP
The invention relates to a partly resorbable tissue clip for stapling tissue, comprising at least one gripping tooth that grips the tissue, at least one force deflecting element that is equipped with at least one gripping tooth, and at least one spring element that is connected to the at least one force deflecting element; the at least one gripping tooth or a portion of the at least one force deflecting element or of at least one of the force deflecting elements is made of bioresorbable material.
GASKET USING MEDICAL SILICONE RUBBER HAVING SLIDABILITY, AND SYRINGE USING SAID GASKET
A syringe is to be obtained by using PTFE for a gasket main body that makes a direct contact with an injection solution and using a slidable silicone rubber at a portion that does not make contact with the injection solution.
A syringe A includes a syringe barrel 1, a gasket 10 press-fitted within the syringe barrel 1, and a plunger rod 5 mounted in the gasket 10. In the gasket 10, a concaved groove 18 is formed over the whole circumference of a slide-contact surface 11 of a main body portion 26 that is formed of a rigid plastic having a drug solution-resistant property against a drug solution 30 to be loaded in the syringe barrel 1 and that is configured to slidingly contact an inner circumferential surface 2 of the syringe barrel 1. In a slide-contact ring 19 that is to be fitted in the concaved groove 18 and that is configured to slidingly contact the syringe barrel inner circumference surface 2, a silicone oil and a spherical ultrahigh molecular weight fine powder are added to a silicone rubber base material 19c.
GLYCEROL AND SODIUM PENTABORATE BASED FORMULATION PREVENTING POSTOPERATIVE ADHESIONS
A glycerol and sodium pentaborate based formulation developed for preventing postoperative adhesions occurring between manipulated tissues and organs is provided. An objective of the glycerol and sodium pentaborate based formulation is to provide a formulation comprising a mixture of glycerol, wherein the glycerol is one of the most abundant biomolecules in a human body, and sodium pentaborate, wherein the sodium pentaborate is known to have positive effects on a wound healing, with a purpose of preventing the postoperative adhesions.
Synergistic antibacterial activity of medium polarity oils in combination with antibacterial agents on bacterial biofilms
The compositions of the present invention comprise at least one medium polarity oil and at least one antibacterial agent, the combination of which produces a synergistic antibacterial effect against bacterial biofilms. Methods are disclosed for the reduction of bacteria in and/or elimination of bacterial biofilms on biological and non-biological surfaces, as well as methods for the treatment of wounds, skin lesions, mucous membrane lesions, and other biological surfaces infected or contaminated with bacterial biofilms.
VISCOELASTIC COMPOSITION
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a viscoelastic composition having excellent operability, which is suitable for use in securing the field of view of an endoscope when opaque dark-colored liquid accumulates inside a canal and obstructs the field of view of the endoscope, the viscoelastic composition securing the field of view by pushing the liquid aside, and to provide a method for securing the field of view of an endoscope using the viscoelastic composition. The viscoelastic composition for securing the field of view of an endoscope comprises a substance having viscoelastic properties and water, preferably has a hardness of 550 N/m.sup.2 or less, a viscosity (25° C.) of 200 to 2,000 mPa.Math.s, and a loss tangent of 0.6 or less, and more preferably has an electrical conductivity of 250 μS/cm or less. The method for securing the field of view of an endoscope comprises feeding the viscoelastic composition from a proximal part of the endoscope, through a channel, into a distal part of the endoscope.
SYSTEMS, DEVICES, AND METHODS FOR BONE SUTURE ATTACHMENT AND SUPPORT
Systems, devices, and methods are provided for attaching and supporting a bone suture. In particular, described herein are embodiments of implantable bracing apparatuses comprising one or more curved tubes configured to be implanted in one or more bone tunnels, and further configured to pass one or more sutures therethrough. Embodiments of methods of creating a bracing apparatus in situ by injecting a fluidic agent into a bone tunnel and inducing a phase transition are also described. Furthermore, described herein are embodiments of tunneling devices for creating a bone tunnel, which can be used with any of the bracing apparatuses described herein.
Controllable photonic chamber
A chamber providing controlled amounts of IR and visible light within an internal space sized to seat at least one human being. The chamber includes at least one heater configured to emit FIR energy, at least one heater configured to emit NIR energy, and at least one heater configured to emit at least MIR energy. The chamber includes at least one light emitting source configured to emit a selected wavelength of visible light, and a control panel configured to control the amount and duration of FIR, MIR, NIR and visible light within the chamber.
