Tangential grinding machine for railway profiles
A tangential grinding machine slidable on rails to be ground includes a base structure mounted on wheels slidable on the rails to be ground; a grinding unit freely slidable along the cross-members of the base structure, the grinding unit having a frame rigidly movable vertically relative to the base structure towards and away from the rail, the frame being rigidly coupled to at least two longitudinally aligned plates supporting a grinding wheel with a rotatable axis transverse to the rail longitudinal axis; and a bar hinged at its ends to the base structure and to the grinding unit respectively, there being connected to the frame supporting the plates a gear motor provided with a vertical axis worm gear, the end of which rests on the grinding unit, a control unit being associated with the gear motor to control frame descent following wear of the grinding wheel.
Railroad track tool apparatus
The present disclosure relates to a railroad track tool apparatus. The apparatus comprises a tool configured to perform an operation to the rail of the railroad track, a clamp assembly, and a coupling. The clamp assembly is moveable between a clamped position and an unclamped position to removably couple the tool with the rail. The clamp assembly is moveable along the rail. The coupling is configured to couple the tool to the clamp assembly. The coupling comprises a pivot, a linkage assembly comprising an arm coupled to the pivot, and a head coupled to the linkage assembly. The coupling is configured such that the tool is moveable between an inner side and an outer side of the rail, rotatable toward and away from the inner side or the outer side of the rail, and rotatable toward and away from an underside of the rail.

RAIL GRINDING MACHINE AND METHOD THEREOF
A rail grinding machine is composed of a rail cart that moves along a rail of a railway via self-propelled locomotion or by being towed. A grinding assembly may simultaneously grind both sides of a vertical web of the rail via respective grinding surfaces that create a ground surface on each side of the vertical web prior to welding one end of one rail to another end of an adjacent rail. The ground surface created by the respective grinding surfaces receives a metallic plate in a subsequent welding process performed by a different welding machine. The grinding assembly is moveable to displace the respective grinding surfaces from engagement with the rail when the rail cart moves along the rail and is moveable to engage the respective grinding surfaces with the vertical web of the rail when the rail cart is maintained in a stationary position relative to the rail.
