MULTILAYER SYNTHETIC RUBBER COMPOSITIONS
Provided are multilayer synthetic rubber compositions formed from a layer of a styrene block copolymer composition and a layer of one or more synthetic elastomers, such as polychloroprene, polyisoprene, nitrile rubber, styrene butadiene rubber, butyl rubber and polyurethane. The multilayer compositions find use in the manufacture of thin walled articles, for example gloves, particularly medical or industrial gloves.
MEDICAL MEMBER AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING SAME
A medical member includes a base material that is permeable to light; and a polymer layer having a phosphorylcholine group and located at least at a part of an inner surface of the base material. The part of the inner surface includes a first area irradiated with light of an intensity capable of forming the polymer layer when irradiated with light of a predetermined intensity from an outer surface side of the base material. Another medical member includes a base material that is permeable to light; and a polymer layer having a phosphorylcholine group and located at least at a part of an inner surface of the base material. The inner surface of the base material is irradiated with light of a light intensity of 3 mW/cm.sup.2 or less when light of a light intensity of 15 mW/cm.sup.2 or less enters from an outer surface side of the base material.
Surgical hand wrap and sterile connector
Devices to secure the hand of a patient to a limb positioning device while evenly distributing the applied traction load across the patient's hand and wrist are disclosed. The hand is placed in the open position into a soft mitten, while an anatomically-shaped plate is attached to the mitten for supporting the palm of the hand in the open position. Straps are then secured around the patient's wrist and hand. Finally, the entire device is overwrapped an elastic bandage and secured to the limb positioning device. When traction is applied, the shape of the plate, the construction of the mitten, and the straps combine to allow low-contact pressure across the patient's hand and wrist.
SINGLE PROCEDURE INDICATORS
Disclosed herein are single use indicators and methods for employing the same. Such indicators and their uses are directed towards identifying the discharge status of single procedure devices, which are typically, but not limited to, medical devices.
NON-BIODEGRADABLE ANTI-ADHESION MATERIAL
The purpose of the present invention is to inhibit and prevent the formation of adhesions, i.e., bonds between a wound and its surrounding tissues or between organs that are originally separated.
The anti-adhesion material of the present invention is characterized in that at least a part of the anti-adhesion material is made of a non-biodegradable material and a contact angle of a surface to water is less than 7 degrees or more than 90 degrees.

Device for facilitating the administration of a medicament to the lung by a catheter
A device (100) for facilitating the positioning of a catheter for the delivery of liquid medicament to spontaneously breathing patient, including: —an elongated main body (101) shaped to follow the internal shape of the patient's upper airways, the elongated main body (101) being provided with guiding means (107) adapted to house a catheter; —a substantially ring-shaped terminal element (103) adapted to engage the internal wall of the patient's retro-pharynx, the substantially ring-shaped terminal element (103) being connected to the elongated main body (101) by means of at least one spoke (105), the substantially ring-shaped element (103) and the at least one spoke (105) creating a chamber where the medicament can be delivered through the catheter.
SANDWICHED BIODEGRADABLE MICRONEEDLE
A microneedle device for delivering therapeutic ingredients to the dermis or epidermis. The device contains biodegradable microneedles, which extend from a backing, and are sandwiched between a cap film and a film which is coextensive with the tips of the microneedles and the spaces on the backing between the microneedles.
COMPOSITE STINT APPARATUS AND FABRICATION METHOD
The present disclosure is generally related to a stent with one more layer of graphene added to a stint that will be inserted into the body of a patient. Such a stint may be inserted into a vein or artery of a patient in order to increase blood flow, to maintain blood flow, or to prevent a vein or artery from collapsing. The graphene added to the stint provides improved biocompatibility of the stint and reduces risks associated with conventional stints. Stints consistent with the present disclosure may also include growth factors that help bind the stint to specific receptors or target cells. Stints of the present disclosure may include a monolayer, a bilayer, or multi-layers of graphene adhered to the surface of the stent. The stint may then coated with a growth factor.
Expandable medical device and method of use thereof
The present invention relates generally to expandable medical devices including a light-activated shape-memory polymer. In certain embodiments, the devices include, for example, balloon catheters, used to treat narrowed or obstructed portions of a body vessel, and retrieval devices, used to remove obstructions from a body vessel. Certain aspects of the invention relate to methods of manufacturing and using such devices.
