Earth working machine

An earth working machine (10), in particular a road milling machine, a stabilizer, or the like, having a milling drum (30) that is mounted rotatably on a machine frame (11) and is populated or populatable on its outer circumference with working tools (31); the working tools (31) to come into contact, during working operation, with the ground that is to be worked to remove it; a drive unit (20) drives the milling drum (30) by means of a drive motor (21); an input drive shaft (33) couplable to the drive motor (21) is attached to the milling drum (30); and a ballast element, constituting a kinetic mass (57), increases the kinetic energy of the milling drum (30). The kinetic mass (57) is couplable to or decouplable from the rotatable milling drum (30), or a rotational member indirectly or directly coupled to the milling drum (30), via a shiftable coupling (55).

Compactor

A compactor includes a compactor structure and at least one roller unit rotatably supported on the compactor structure about a roller axis of rotation. A roller heater is deployed in assignment with at least one roller unit. The roller heater is a liquid fuel-operated heating device with a burner region, a fuel pump for supplying liquid fuel from a fuel tank to the burner region and a combustion air blower for supplying combustion air to the burner region.

MODULAR CONCRETE SCREED SYSTEM

A concrete screed assembly broadly includes a plurality of elongated drum sections. The drum sections are interchangeably interconnectable in an end-to-end relationship to cooperatively form a rotatable concrete screed drum that is selectively variable depending on the drum sections interconnected to form the drum. The drum sections each present a concrete-forming outer surface configured to engage concrete as the drum is rotated. The drum sections each include opposite connection ends.

A curb former (10) includes a rotatable drive shaft (20), a gutter drum (80), and a curb profiling drum (100). The gutter drum (80) is secured to the drive shaft (20) such that the drive shaft (20) and gutter drum (80) rotate together. The curb profiling drum (100) is detachably secured relative to both the drive shaft (20) and the gutter drum (80). This configuration allows one curb profiling drum (100) to be replaced with another curb profiling drum (100) to change the profile of a curb resulting from a curbing operation using the curb former (10).

SOIL WORKING ROLLER

A compaction drum can include an outer surface defining a width. The compaction drum also can include a plurality of pads disposed on the outer surface of the compaction drum and positioned in at least one row. Each of the plurality of pads can be disposed circumferentially spaced apart relative to one another on the outer surface. Each of the plurality of pads can define a first height. The compaction drum further can include a plurality of ribs disposed on the outer surface. Each of the plurality of ribs can be connected between adjacent pads of the plurality of pads. Each of the plurality of ribs can define a second height. The second height of each of the plurality of ribs can be approximately equal to the first height of each of the plurality of pads.

System and method for automatically controlling compactor compaction surface contact pressure

A system and a method for controlling tire air pressure of a compactor having a plurality of tires. A weight distribution of the compactor is determined according to a per-tire basis. Target air pressures for each of the tires are determined in order to achieve a consistent compaction surface contact pressure across all of the tires or a set of the tires. Air pressure of the tires is controlled to achieve the target air pressures to make the compaction surface contact pressure consistent across all of the tires or the set of the tires.
