REFLECTOR HAVING INFORMATION GENERATION FUNCTION
20200326460 · 2020-10-15 ·

A reflector having an information generation function, wherein information allowing a quick and clear understanding of a traffic system and the surrounding environment thereof can be generated by a combination of unit reflectors recognizable by a light detection and ranging (Lidar) or radio detecting and ranging (Radar) system, is proposed. The reflector includes a plurality of unit reflectors for representing information through code generation, wherein each of the unit reflectors represents information by reflecting light beams or radio waves therefrom or transmitting the same therethrough, whereby binary-coded information is generated using the reflector, which allows a Lidar system or a Radar system to recognize the generated information.

ROAD SIGNS AND MARKINGS WITH LIGHT CONVERSION

A sign or other marking that is illuminated by an LED lamp, e.g., in a vehicle headlamp is described. The sign employs spectral shifting to increase the power or energy reflected by the sign when illuminated by the LED lamp, which has a significant power peak in the blue spectrum. The spectral shifting can be done in a conversion layer on top of a reflective layer. The reflective layer can include quantum dots to increase its efficiency in reflecting light.

Anchor system for pole marker

A support for positioning a marking pole relative to a driving surface and a method of using the same is disclosed. The support includes a shaft member extending between a first end and a second end and an intermediate portion between the first end and the second end. A first anchor extends from the second end of the shaft member. A second anchor extends from an area of the shaft member between first end and the second end of the shaft member. The shaft member defines a cantilevered section between the first end and the intersection of anchor. A receiver is at the first end of the shaft and configured to receive a marking pole.

REFLECTIVE MIRROR DEFOGGER
20200173691 · 2020-06-04 ·

A defogger defogs a reflective mirror with heat from sunlight without relying on electric power. A defogger for a reflective mirror includes a heat collector with a hollow structure to store heat from sunlight, an air inlet port through which air is fed into the heat collector, a warm-air outlet port through which air from the heat collector is discharged in a heated state, a support attached to a pole of the reflective mirror, and a connector connecting the heat collector and the support. The structure allows warm air discharged through the warm-air outlet port to come in contact with the surface of the reflective mirror to increase the surface temperature and thus defog the reflective mirror.

Barrier Construction

The present invention relates to posts, carriages, methods of manufacturing the components and their assembly into a barrier. The invention also includes a Z post attachment includes an attachment tab 8.016 and end engagement flange 8.024, 8.026 adapted to engage the end of the post. The arrangement can include a delineator 8.030 which is skew in relation to the tab 8.016, so as to provide reflector faces 8.032 which face oncoming traffic.

A two-layer retroreflective article construction is enabled that produces higher wide-entrance-angle performance for signs and pavement markings. A single-layer overlay is enabled for existing signs and pavement markers that improve their entrance angle performance. Materials used in the construction of an article or an overlay are transparent to radiation in the range of 400 to 1000 nanometers and utilize TIR (total internal reflection). Minimum performance specifications are proposed that extend sign sheeting retroreflectivity specifications to entrance angles of 60 degrees. An innovative traffic sign design is enabled that increases the positioning performance of safety systems and automated navigation systems.
