Systems and methods for deploying emergency roadside signaling devices

Systems and methods for deploying emergency roadside signaling devices are disclosed. In one aspect, system for an autonomous vehicle includes one or more signaling devices configured to visually notify other vehicles when placed on or near a roadway, and an object placing device configured to place the one or more signaling devices. The system further includes a processor and a computer-readable memory in communication with the processor and having stored thereon computer-executable instructions to cause the processor to: determine that the autonomous vehicle has experienced a malfunction, and provide instructions to the object placing device to place the one or more signaling devices on or near the roadway.

Post sleeve assembly

A post sleeve includes a reinforced concrete body preformed around a liner that defines a cavity extending longitudinally within the body, sized to receive a post. Standoff ribs run lengthwise within the cavity and extend inward from inner walls of the cavity. A post in the cavity is supported laterally by the standoff ribs. Drain channels between the ribs permit water to flow past the post and exit the cavity via a lower aperture. A drain tube is coupled to the lower aperture, and extends downward where it is covered with gravel at the bottom of a post hole. Concrete is poured around the post sleeve in the hole. The cavity is adaptable to receive posts of varying sizes, and at various depths. A collar closes a space between the post and the top of the cavity, permitting air circulation within the cavity while shedding water and substantially preventing insects from entering the cavity.

Embodiments are directed to a traffic control assembly, which includes a reinforced mounting base selectively mountable adjacent a roadway, a primary flexible tubular member, a reinforcing member, a retaining member, and a retaining pin. In accordance with at least one embodiment, the primary flexible tubular member is coupled to the reinforcing member, where the reinforcing member is configured to provide elastic support to the primary flexible tubular member against an impact by a moving vehicle. In accordance with at least one embodiment, the primary flexible tubular member is coupled to a structural insert on the opposite end from the base, the structural insert is further coupled to a secondary flexible tubular member to increase the resiliency of the traffic control assembly against an impact by a moving vehicle.

Systems and methods for deploying emergency roadside signaling devices are disclosed. In one aspect, a control system for an object placing device of an autonomous vehicle includes a processor, and a computer-readable memory in communication with the processor and having stored thereon computer-executable instructions to cause the processor to: receive a signal comprising instructions to activate the object placing device; and provide instructions to the object placing device to place a plurality of signaling devices in accordance with predetermined criteria.

APPARATUS FOR MARKING THE LOCATION OF A UTILITY FIXTURE
20190169806 · 2019-06-06 ·

A device for indicating a position within the ground of a utility fixture, such as on a construction site, includes a resilient body that is able to be secured around an open end of the utility fixture. The resilient body may be secured to the utility fixture using hose clamps. The resilient body supports a pole that extends upward of the resilient body and indicates the location of the utility fixture. When pressure is applied to the pole, such as if a vehicle inadvertently runs over the pole, the resilient body deflects to temporarily displace the pole horizontally. Once the pressure is removed, the resilient body returns the pole to the upward disposition. The resilient body also prevents the ingress of debris into the utility fixture.

IMPROVEMENTS RELATING TO PROTECTOR BOLLARDS, BARRIER POSTS AND BARRIER RAILS
20240200291 · 2024-06-20 · ·

Protector bollards, barrier posts and barrier bails are commonly used to protect structures from accidental collisions from vehicles operating in the area. However, they are regularly damaged by such collisions, and once they are damaged the protection they provide is much reduced, and repairs are often complex and expensive. The inventions provide bollards, posts and rails that include resilient members that are designed to absorb the energy from typical collision impacts without being permanently deformed. The use of resilient materials, and the allowance for a degree of flexure, allows the bollards, posts or rails to move to some degree while absorbing the collision loads, and then to return to their original shape or orientation without the need for expensive repairs.

Traffic director and system and method for use thereof

A traffic director includes a distal end and a proximal end, two or more sides extending upward from the proximal end at an angle toward the distal end, a proximal notch disposed near the proximal end between two adjacent sides, and the proximal notch forms a first flexion point of the traffic director. The traffic director can further include one or more recessed channels formed in at least one of the two or more sides. The one or more recessed channels forms a second flexion point of the traffic director. The traffic director can further include a removable indicator sleeve having an advertisement or directional indicator printed thereon.

Stanchion Or Post With A Spring-Loaded Assembly

A socket mounted post system including a post with a hollow base portion attached to a spring mechanism. The spring mechanism includes a pillar, the pillar having a finger extending from the hollow base portion. The finger is engageable with a socket that is mountable in a floor. The spring mechanism allows the post to flex angularly relative to a vertical orientation of the post.

One-piece base assembly

A one-piece resiliently deformable base assembly for an item of street furniture or a barrier, the base assembly comprising an elongate street furniture receiving portion and a base mounting portion, wherein the base assembly is formed from a polyurethane polymer, and the base mounting portion comprises a flange including one or more fixing elements.
