FIBERGLASS GUARD RAIL
A guardrail system for use along a roadway. The system can include a longitudinal body having one or more longitudinal void spaces formed therein, at least one substantially vertical post connected at one or both ends of the body, and a longitudinal member disposed within any one of the longitudinal void spaces of the body having a crosswise ultimate tensile strength that is at least 20% greater than the crosswise ultimate tensile strength of the longitudinal body.
IMPROVEMENTS RELATING TO PROTECTOR BOLLARDS, BARRIER POSTS AND BARRIER RAILS
Protector bollards, barrier posts and barrier bails are commonly used to protect structures from accidental collisions from vehicles operating in the area. However, they are regularly damaged by such collisions, and once they are damaged the protection they provide is much reduced, and repairs are often complex and expensive. The inventions provide bollards, posts and rails that include resilient members that are designed to absorb the energy from typical collision impacts without being permanently deformed. The use of resilient materials, and the allowance for a degree of flexure, allows the bollards, posts or rails to move to some degree while absorbing the collision loads, and then to return to their original shape or orientation without the need for expensive repairs.
Road safety barrier assembly for detecting an impact of a vehicle
Road safety barrier assembly has a barrier and an electric circuit that can be supplied with direct current. The circuit includes an outward electric cable and a return electric cable, and sensors along the barrier for detecting impact of a vehicle against respective portions of the barrier, each sensor causing upon impact detection a switching of electric current from the outward electric cable towards the return electric cable at the respective portion of the barrier. A device is arranged so as to measure a voltage value between the outward electric cable and the return electric cable upstream of the sensors. A control unit is predisposed to receive a signal indicating the voltage value measured by the voltage measuring device and is configured to calculate the distance between the voltage measuring device and the location of impact against the road safety barrier, by applying Ohm's Law.
System for illuminating a carriageway in a case of fog
A system for illuminating a carriageway in a case of fog includes a road safety barrier arranged along the carriageway, at least one fog density detecting device arranged along the road safety barrier, and a plurality of light sources borne by the road safety barrier, distributed along the road safety barrier, and oriented for each to emit a light beam having a direction that is transversal to an extension axis of the road safety barrier so as to illuminate signage on the carriageway. A control unit that is connected to the light sources and to the fog density detecting device is configured to activate the light sources when the fog density detecting device detects a fog density value of above a threshold value.
FIBERGLASS GUARD RAIL
A guardrail system for use along a roadway. The guardrail system can include a longitudinal body that can be made from one or more plastics and have two or more longitudinal void spaces formed therein. At least one of the void spaces can be continuous from a first end of the body to a second end of the body. The system can also include a longitudinal member disposed within the continuous void space. The longitudinal member can be made from one or more metals to provide flexibility and strength to the guardrail.
PLASTIC GUARDRAIL
This invention relates to a plastic guardrail, extruded into a structure having multiple layers and ribs between the layers using a thermoplastic resin, and configured such that an outer layer using a material having high strength to increase impact resistance, and an inner layer and the ribs using a material having lower strength than that of at least the outer layer to increase an internal cushioning effect are integrated with each other through a double extrusion process. The guardrail of the invention can exhibit both impact resistance and a cushioning function.
Guardrail Terminal Barrier
A force-absorbing barrier 10 includes a plurality of concentric chambers 21, 23, 25 and 27 at least partially filled with fluid 42. The walls 22, 24, 26 and 28 defining the chambers are flexible. Fluid passages 30 in the interior walls 24, 26 and 28 between chambers allow fluid flow between the chambers. The fluid flow from chamber to chamber will absorb energy from the impact a motor vehicle, preventing the vehicle from impacting the terminal of a guardrail.
Highway safety protective fence and method for manufacturing the same
A highway safety protective fence includes a processed steel guardrail board and a protective sleeve, wherein the protective sleeve is sleeved to an outer surface of the processed steel guardrail board. Furthermore, a method for manufacturing the highway safety protective fence includes steps of: conveying an original steel guardrail board to a quenching furnace through a temperature withstanding ceramic stick, quenching, conveying to a constant temperature furnace, staying, conveying to a quenching oil solution tank, cooling in sequence and obtaining a processed steel guardrail board; conveying the processed steel guardrail board to a rubber coating machine through a conveying belt, and packaging the processed steel guardrail board with the protective sleeve to obtain the highway safety protective fence. In the highway safety protective fence provided by the present invention, the steel guardrail board is quenched to greatly increase the safety factor.
Roadway barriers impact detection system
The guardrail, which may take the form of various types of guardrails, is noteworthy in that it includes an impact detector/indicator, for indicating the location of the guardrail involved in an impact or accident and also for notifying the accident and the place where it occurred to a traffic control station or to public assistance personnel. The detector/indicator includes a convex protective plate (2) attached to the front of the guardrail (1) with which it is used, said plate (2) protecting a connection box (3) and a tube (4) so as together to create a means for detecting and communicating the impact that occurred, also having an indicator light (5) for flagging up the impact, said indicator (5) being positioned on a support plate (6) secured above the protective plate (2).
