Metallurgical steel post design for solar farm foundations and increased guardrail durability
11848635 · 2023-12-19 ·

A high-grade post or pile system for the foundation of a solar array, which may facilitate the installation of a solar array rack in more corrosive soils. Such a post may also satisfy the need for a foundation able to resist ground forces, in particular the effects of wind on the exterior of the array, and may reduce problems with beam refusal. The post may be used in other applications such as guardrail posts. In contrast to existing posts for solar arrays, the high-grade post may be formed from higher-grade steel.

BEAM CONNECTION DEVICE

Disclosed is a barrier, comprising: a plurality of posts; a first beam and a second beam arranged in an end-on relation to one another and extending between respective posts of the plurality of posts, wherein the first beam and second beam are longitudinally displaceable with respect to one another; and, an articulating link connecting the first beam and the second beam, wherein the articulating link translates a longitudinal movement of the first beam in a first direction to a longitudinal movement of the second beam in a second direction.

Helical pile foundation system

A post foundation system is provided. The system has a shaft with a helical disk attached to one end and a post support attached to the other end. The helical disk drives the shaft into the ground as a rotational force is applied to the shaft. A fin section is rotatably coupled about the shaft between its first and second ends. The fin section can have one or more fins extending outwardly from the shaft. The fin section engages the ground to stabilize the post foundation system as the shaft of the post foundation system is driven into the ground.

Guardrail terminal

Guardrail, guardrail terminal, and support post designs that improve control of a vehicle during collisions are described. The disclosed designs also reduce the likelihood of intrusion into vehicle systems and the occupant compartment(s). Embodiments include folding and/or flattening of the guardrail and controlling the folded and flattened guardrail to avoid intrusion into the vehicle. Other embodiments include containing the guardrail in an impact head of a guardrail terminal, which also avoids vehicle intrusion.

Protective and Reflective Guardrail Post Cap

A protective and reflective post cap is disclosed herein. The post cap is preferably comprised of a generally dome-shaped anodized aluminum body with a reflective and UV resistant outer surface, and an adhesive inner surface for attaching to a post, such as a guardrail post, for preserving the useful life thereof. The post cap is also preferably comprised of a precipitation diverting skirt which directs precipitation away from the body of the wooden post, thereby preserving the useful life thereof. The post cap of the present invention prevents precipitation and ultraviolet radiation from permeating into and damaging the wooden post to which it is attached.

Breakaway guardrail post for a highway crash attenuation system

A highway crash attenuation system having an improved breakaway guardrail post. An improved upper section of Post 1 has an anchor bearing plate with a cooperating stabilizing bolt engaging with the upstream face of the upper post section. The downstream side of the upper post section is provided with split, spaced-apart strut sections which do not obstruct the rear cable pass through notch.

Guardrail Post System

A subterranean housing and post system for connection to a traffic guardrail is disclosed. The housing comprises an interior space and a soil plate extending outward from the housing. The interior of the housing comprises a lower post guide, a lower post stop, and an upper post stop. A lower post has a U-channel shape with outwardly extending flanges. The lower post is insertable into the lower end of the housing, between the lower post guide and the housing body, with insertion limited by engagement with the lower post stop. An upper post has a U-channel shape with outwardly extending flanges. The upper post is insertable into the upper end of the housing, between the lower post and the housing body. Insertion of the upper post is limited by engagement with the upper post stop. The upper post is connectable to a guardrail.

The helical disk drives the shaft into the ground as a rotational force is applied to the shaft. A fin section is rotatably coupled about the shaft between its first and second ends. Brace for Erecting a Bollard Fence
20200325702 · 2020-10-15 ·

A bollard panel having adjacent bollards and a gap between the adjacent bollards, a brace having a panel connector, a first longitudinal section, and a second longitudinal section, and the brace supporting the bollard panel in a vertical position relative to a ground with the brace disposed in the gap with the first longitudinal section located on a first side of the bollard panel, the second longitudinal section located on a second side of the bollard panel, and the panel connector attached to the bollard panel.

Barrier system

A longitudinal beam barrier system comprises a longitudinal beam and a post linked together via a fastener incorporating at least one deformable washer. The link is made in a releasable and tunable manner dependent on an applied force via the at least one deformable washer. Release may be made dependent on both the magnitude and direction of the force so that release may be a result of different release forces in different force angles. The deformable washer may be designed to transfer a longitudinal beam load force from a fastener to a post wall, the washer extending around the fastener and having a first face that bears on the fastener or a part thereof (or forms part of the fastener) and an opposing face that at least partly bears on a part of the post wall or walls. The washer is designed so that, in the event of an impact of sufficient force on the longitudinal beam, post, or fastener, the washer at least partly deforms allowing separation to occur between the post or posts and the longitudinal beam.
