An apparatus includes a base having a length in a first direction, a height in a second direction different from the first direction, and a depth in a third direction different from the first direction and the second direction. The base includes at least one sidewall having an outer surface, an inner surface, and an edge defining an open end of a cavity within the base. The base also includes a plurality of ribs extending from the inner surface of the at least one sidewall toward the open end of the cavity. The ribs of the plurality of ribs are separated from one another along the first direction. The base further includes at least one tube extending from the inner surface of the at least one sidewall toward the open end of the cavity. The apparatus also includes at least one plaque removably attached to the outer surface of base.

Breakaway Guardrail Post for a Highway Crash Attenuation System
20190338478 · 2019-11-07 ·

A highway crash attenuation system having an improved breakaway guardrail post. An improved upper section of Post 1 has an anchor bearing plate with a cooperating stabilizing bolt engaging with the upstream face of the upper post section. The downstream side of the upper post section is provided with split, spaced-apart strut sections which do not obstruct the rear cable pass through notch.

METALLURGICAL STEEL POST DESIGN FOR SOLAR FARM FOUNDATIONS AND INCREASED GUARDRAIL DURABILITY
20240128919 · 2024-04-18 ·

A high-grade post or pile system for the foundation of a solar array, which may facilitate the installation of a solar array rack in more corrosive soils. Such a post may also satisfy the need for a foundation able to resist ground forces, in particular the effects of wind on the exterior of the array and may reduce problems with beam refusal. The post may be used in other applications such as guardrail posts. In contrast to existing posts for solar arrays, the high-grade post may be formed from higher-grade steel.

SUPPORTING BOLLARD PANELS DURING BOLLARD WALL INSTALLATION
20240125061 · 2024-04-18 ·

A brace and method for supporting a bollard panel in a vertical position includes a linear structural member having a panel connector to secure adjacent bollard panels to the linear structural member.

GUARDRAIL TERMINAL

Guardrail, guardrail terminal, and support post designs that improve control of a vehicle during collisions are described. The disclosed designs also reduce the likelihood of intrusion into vehicle systems and the occupant compartment(s). Embodiments include folding and/or flattening of the guardrail and controlling the folded and flattened guardrail to avoid intrusion into the vehicle. Other embodiments include containing the guardrail in an impact head of a guardrail terminal, which also avoids vehicle intrusion.

SHOCK ABSORBER OF ROAD
20190323188 · 2019-10-24 ·

Disclosed is a shock absorber for buffering the barrier wall of a road. According to the present invention, a horizontal inner pipe bumper is inserted into a pedestal attached to a boundary of a barrier wall and joined to the support pillar. The buffer rail transversely connected to the protruding portion of the buffer pad on the front surface of the pedestal constitutes the buffer portion of the collision portion barrier wall, and when the buffer pad adhered to the inner pipe bumper is displaced upright, tension of the elastic rail connecting the buffer pad and the elastic rail block is generated, and the guard rail of the pillar is coupled to the barrier bridging body by a connecting member.

SURROGATE FOR METAL GUARDRAIL

Surrogates for roadside objects, such as metal guardrails, can be used for vehicle testing. A surrogate for a metal guardrail can have substantially the same size and/or shape as the metal guardrail that the surrogate is mimicking. The surrogate can be configured to exhibit substantially the same characteristics as their actual counterpart metal guardrail when sensed by one or more vehicle sensors (e.g., cameras, radar sensors, and/or LIDAR sensors). Such surrogates can be used to test autonomous vehicles, one or more vehicle sensors, a vehicle sensor system, and/or one or more vehicle system (e.g., a road departure mitigation system). The surrogates can be configured to withstand being crashed into by a test vehicle without being damaged and without damaging the test vehicle.

SURROGATE FOR CONCRETE DIVIDER

Surrogates for roadside objects, such as concrete dividers, can be used for vehicle testing. A surrogate for a concrete divider can have substantially the same size and/or shape as the concrete divider that the surrogate is mimicking. The surrogate can be configured to exhibit substantially the same characteristics as their actual counterpart concrete divider when sensed by one or more vehicle sensors (e.g., cameras, radar sensors, and/or LIDAR sensors).

BRACE FOR ERECTING A BOLLARD FENCE
20190301118 · 2019-10-03 ·

A bollard panel having adjacent bollards and a gap between the adjacent bollards, a brace having a panel connector, a first longitudinal section, and a second longitudinal section, and the brace supporting the bollard panel in a vertical position relative to a ground with the brace disposed in the gap with the first longitudinal section located on a first side of the bollard panel, the second longitudinal section located on a second side of the bollard panel, and the panel connector attached to the bollard panel.

Barrier Construction

The present invention relates to posts, carriages, methods of manufacturing the components and their assembly into a barrier. The invention also includes a Z post attachment includes an attachment tab 8.016 and end engagement flange 8.024, 8.026 adapted to engage the end of the post. The arrangement can include a delineator 8.030 which is skew in relation to the tab 8.016, so as to provide reflector faces 8.032 which face oncoming traffic.
