An animal waste collecting tool for improved sanitization includes an elongated shaft having an upper end and a lower end. The upper end connects to an attachment member that is for securing the tool with a user's arm. The lower end connects to a V-shaped support member wherein two legs of the V-shaped support member are connected to a semi-circular member. On the bottom surface of the semi-circular member, there are a plurality of hooks on the bottom surface of the semi-circular member, each of the plurality of hooks being biased in the forward direction. Another hook being biased in the rearward direction is inside the tip between two legs of the V-shaped support member, for securing a disposable bag on the semi-circular member in conjunction with the plurality of hooks on the bottom surface of the semi-circular member.

A sifting pick-up device is provided that operates as a combined pick-up tool and sifter. The device comprises an elongated frame, a first jaw member, and a second jaw member. The elongated frame includes a proximal end, a distal end, and a slidable handle therealong. The two jaw members are disposed along the distal end and move relative to one another based on movement of the slidable handle. At least one of the jaw members has a sifting screen jaw surface in which contents secured between the jaws can be separated from granular material. One or both of the jaw members are movable, and in one embodiment the slidable handle is spring biased and is connected to at least one jaw member via one or more cables. The handle controls the position of the jaws, which can be used to pick-up items and sift the same.

When the paddles are attached to opposing jaws in a pickup position, solid waste of any size on a ground surface can be trapped and picked up while still allowing blades of grass to slide out from between the opposing paddles as the trapped solid waste is lifted off the ground surface.

The base provides a plate having a well with an open end and interior volume in which the nub of the cartridge engages therewith for removable securement. In operation, the user can place a bag over the base and push the nub into the open end of the well of the base for attachment thereto and impale animal waste using the tines. The user can then fold the bag over the cartridge and detach the bag from the plate enclosing the cartridge therein for disposal.

A frame releasably engages and supports a plastic bag and includes a closed loop attached to and extending away from the second end of the pole. The closed loop has an end member positioned opposite of the pole. The end member is linear for a distance greater than 4.0 inches and is orientated perpendicular to a longitudinal axis of the pole. A plurality of tines is attached to and extends away from the end member. The tines are co-planar with respect to each other and lie in a plane angled back toward the pole. A clip is mounted on the pole adjacent to the second end. The clip releasably secures an edge of the plastic bag to the pole.
