Scraper blade device for cleaning a surface and method
The scraper blade device is provided for cleaning a surface, for instance a roadway surface, when moving in a forward direction relative to the surface. The scraper blade device includes an upper blade portion and a bottom blade portion. The bottom blade portion has a plurality of widthwise-disposed blade segments that are adjoined and juxtaposed to one another. The bottom edge of each blade segment is independently slidingly movable in an up and down movement out of alignment with reference to the bottom edge of the other blade segments and is biased towards a downward working direction. The bottom edge of the blade segments is also pivotally movable with reference to the surface to be cleaned about a pivot axis that is substantially parallel to the lowermost edge of the scraper blade device. The bottom edges is biased towards a forward working position.
Snow plow assembly
A snow plow assembly comprises an angle frame adapted to be operably mounted to a vehicle, a quadrant frame, a plow blade mounted to the quadrant frame, a drive link pivotally connected to the angle frame and the quadrant frame at first and second pivot points, respectively, a swing link pivotally connected to the angle frame and the quadrant frame at third and fourth pivot points, respectively, the angle frame, quadrant frame, drive link, and swing link, and the first, second, third, and fourth pivot points defining a four-bar linkage, and a first actuator pivotally connected on one end to the angle frame at a fifth pivot point and pivotally connected on the other end to the drive link at a sixth pivot point, wherein extending the first actuator causes the quadrant frame and hence the plow blade to rotate in a first direction from a neutral position generally perpendicular to a longitudinal axis of the vehicle, and retracting the first actuator causes the quadrant frame and hence the plow blade to rotate in a second opposite direction from the neutral position.
Removable plowing system for a vehicle with lateral plowing capability
A plowing system is removably mountable onto a vehicle in order to provide the vehicle with lateral plowing capability along a given lateral range of the vehicle. The plowing system includes a mounting assembly, a plowing assembly and corresponding plowing component. The plowing system also has associated first and second actuating assemblies cooperable with one another so as to selectively operate the plowing component between retracted and deployed configurations, and so as to provide the plowing system and associated plowing assembly and corresponding plowing component with an increased plowing resistivity within the lateral range of the vehicle, due to a combined effect of the first and second actuating assemblies. A corresponding vehicle is provided with such a plowing system.
Ground following snow plow attachment
An attachment assembly for attaching a snow plow blade to a vehicle includes a pair of interface brackets, a pair of articulated intermediate structures mounted to the interface brackets, a transversal member joining the intermediate structures, and a trigger assembly. The trigger assembly includes a static member with a pivoting attachment point for attachment to the snow plow blade and top and bottom attachment points for releasable attachment to the intermediate structure, a pin assembly, and a biasing means attached to the pin assembly and to the static member. The trigger assembly is biased toward a default position in which the pin member and the static member are at their closest. When applying a torque on the snow plow blade above a trigger threshold, the snow plow blade rotates from the default position to a triggered position.
GROUND FOLLOWING SNOW PLOW ATTACHMENT
A trigger assembly for attaching a snow plow blade to a vehicle is described. The trigger assembly consists in a combination of a nesting arm and a nested arm rotatable around one another, wherein the arms are furthermore coupled through a biasing means. The trigger assembly is adapted for reacting when the ground-contacting edge of the snow plow blade hitting an obstacle in the nested arm rotating out of the nesting arm and the biasing means being extended.
