A barrier system comprising: an elongate and rigid base member having a channel defined by inner walls of the base member, the channel extending along the length of the base member, the rigid base member being adapted to be anchored to an underlying supporting surface wherein the channel comprises a relatively broader in-use lower portion with a first width (w1) and a relatively narrower in-use upper portion with a second width (w2) defining an opening into the channel; and a removable wall assembly adapted to be removably fastened relative to the base member, the removable wall assembly comprising a flexible barrier wall having a length and a height and being adapted to be positioned within the opening of the upper portion of the channel wherein the wall assembly comprises a frame assembly for framing the barrier wall, the flexible frame assembly further comprising a top frame member and a bottom frame member with the height of the flexible barrier wall extending therebetween and wherein the bottom member is dimensioned to have a thickness that is less than or equal to w1 and that is greater than w2 for allowing the bottom member be received into the lower portion of the channel to position the flexible barrier wall in a substantially upstanding position and for simultaneously preventing the bottom member from being passed through the opening defined by the upper portion of the channel in an upwardly direction.

A sediment control device for attachment to a surface with liquid flow moving in a flow direction includes a base fastenable to the surface, the base including a trailing portion, a central portion adjacent the trailing portion, and a distal portion adjacent the central portion; a first core located at the central portion; a second core located at the distal portion; a fastening element for fastening the base to the surface with the trailing portion in a downstream location and the distal portion in an upstream location relative to the flow direction, the fastening element being vertically aligned with the first core; and the base movable from a first position in which the second core is generally horizontally adjacent the first core along the surface to a second position in which the second core is generally vertically raised relative to the first core and the surface.

Method and system for a retractable floodwall system

The present invention relates to a retractable floodwall unit that comprises a foundation unit having a plurality of guide tracks along side walls of the foundation unit, a floodwall panel stowed in the foundation unit; a power system for raising and lowering the floodwall panel, and a plumbing system. The plumbing system is configured to remove ground water from a dry-side of the floodwall unit and flood water that becomes located in the floodwall unit.

Watertight flexible flood barrier system

Disclosed is an improved flexible flood barrier system for creating a watertight barrier. The system includes a novel hinged clamping bar assembly configured to engage a hem of the fabric flood barrier. The fabric flood barrier is comprised of a waterproof layer reinforced with Kevlar straps. The Kevlar straps are weaved together through slots in one of the layers without the need for stitching upon any of the waterproof layers. When deployed the improved fabric flood barrier system prevents storm surges from breaching the flexible flood barrier system at the attachment points.

Mold system for a modular telescoping barrier and method of construction
11052569 · 2021-07-06 ·

A mold system for a modular telescoping barrier and method of construction provides barriers arranged in a telescoping configuration with tight tolerances. The barriers are constructed with an inner and outer mold subassembly, separated by a gap. A shape-adapted funnel pours mold filling into gap between mold subassemblies. When mold filling dries, the mold subassemblies are removed to access a barrier. Barriers are nested with other barriers having incrementally larger or smaller perimeters to achieve telescoping configuration. A base barrier with a support flange supports multiple barriers. The inner and outer subassemblies are made up of individual panels fitted together end to end, and at corners in a tight relationship. Reinforcing structures abut the panels to prevent panels from bulging. The narrow end of the funnels includes clamps that press inwardly on the panels to prevent bulging. A level and an agitating mechanism enable mold filling to be poured uniformly.

Modular containment system

A modular dike or barrier system includes interconnectable side and corner members having front and rear walls with integrally formed support ribs. Upper, base and side end walls connect and are integral with the front and rear walls. Each of the front and rear walls extends at an acute angle relative to the base wall that is configured to rest against a substratum. The inward acute angle allows for containing and redirecting a surge flow inwardly within an area contained by the barrier system in a direction away from the members. The members are generally plate-like and are configured to allow for horizontal stacking on the substratum. Members can include a selectively collapsible support assembly configured to be retained at central bodies of the respective members and to limit interference during stacking and transport of the members.
