Material transfer system for a body of water

There is provided a material transfer system including a reciprocating conveyor which selectively moves in a first direction of movement and a second direction of movement opposite the first direction of movement. The conveyor is configured to promote movement of material in the first direction and inhibit movement of material in the second direction. There is further provided a material transfer system comprising a first reciprocating conveyor which selectively moves material towards a first location. The system includes a second reciprocating conveyor which overlaps with the first reciprocating conveyor. The second reciprocating conveyor selectively moves material from the first location towards a second location. There is also provided a material transfer system comprising a passageway having an upstream inlet and a downstream outlet. The passageway may be a conduit, a siphon or chute. The system includes a reciprocating conveyor conveying fluvial material towards the inlet of the passageway.

A trash rake system with an articulated rake head assembly is provided. The trash rake system includes a main unit, a telescoping boom attached to the main unit, and a rake head assembly attached to an end of the telescoping boom. The rake head assembly includes a base frame, a drive arrangement mounted to the base frame, and a rake head mounted to the drive arrangement. The drive arrangement includes at least one gear arranged to mesh with a rack gear mounted to a rack which is in turn mounted between a fixed member and a movable member of the telescoping boom.

MATERIAL TRANSFER SYSTEM FOR A BODY OF WATER

There is provided a material transfer system comprising a first reciprocating conveyor which selectively moves material towards a first location, and a second reciprocating conveyor which overlaps with the first reciprocating conveyor, with the second reciprocating conveyor selectively moving material from the first location towards a second location. There is also provided a material transfer system according to another aspect comprising a conduit in fluid communication with an upstream portion of the body of water, and a reciprocating conveyor configured to convey upstream said material in the body of water towards the conduit. There is further provided a reciprocating conveyor configured to promote movement of the material in a first direction and inhibit movement of the material in a second direction, and a conveyor position adjustment assembly configured to selectively move a first end portion of the conveyor relative to a second end portion of the conveyor.

Rake system

In a rake system, a reamer element is attached to a reamer arm, which is movable backward and forward. A pivot axle of the reamer arm is formed on the distal end of a control arm, which is pivotable around a further pivot axle. During forward movement of the reamer arm, the reamer element pushes raked material collected by the rake to a discharge edge at the upper end of the rake. During backward movement of the reamer arm, the control arm is lifted, and the reamer element is moved back at a distance from the rake.

Aquatic life and debris collection device for a water screen

A collection device for aquatic life and debris for a traveling water screen. The collection device allows sharing of water provided from a high pressure nozzle while shielding aquatic life from a high pressure spray produced by the high pressure nozzle. The collection device enables separate collection of items exposed to a high pressure spray and items protected from a high pressure spray while reducing water costs. The collection device includes a first compartment for collecting aquatic life collected by a water screen and a second compartment for collecting debris collected by the water screen. A shield dissipates or blocks a high pressure spray directed into the second compartment from entering the first compartment. A filter allows fluid to flow from the second compartment into the first compartment while blocking aquatic life in the first compartment from entering the second compartment.

There is disclosed a trash rake system for use in clearing debris from an intake screen of an intake trash rack of a water intake port of a water use facility. The intake screen is configured to collect debris transported by water, for example, a river, to prevent the debris from entering the intake port of the water use facility. The trash rake system includes a track system, a movable support structure, a rack and pinion drive mechanism, and a controller configured to receive signals from an encoder on a drive motor and a proximity sensor system.
