PORTABLE OIL SKIMMER

A portable oil skimmer includes a collection unit configured to collect spilled oil while floating on the surface of the ocean. The collection unit includes a main body configured to allow a first oil-skimming member to be rotatably mounted on the front end thereof, a second oil-skimming member to be rotatably mounted on the rear end thereof, and a pipe to be connected to the upper portion thereof so as to communicate with the interior thereof, a pair of buoyant bodies mounted on two side surfaces of the main body, with the main body interposed therebetween, and an oil pump disposed in the main body and configured to convey oil collected by the first oil-skimming member and the second oil-skimming member to the outside of the main body through the pipe.

An oil skimming device for the removal of oil located at the surface of a body of water includes a float, at least one skimming surface, a sorbent material, at least one scraper, and a motor. The float is arranged such that the device rests on the surface of the body of water from which the oil is to be removed. The at least one skimming surface is rotatable about an axis such that when the device is floating in the water a portion of the ridged skimming surface is above and a portion of the skimming surface is below the water surface. The sorbent material is removably attached to and substantially covers the skimming surface. The sorbent material is configured to rotate with the skimming surface and to sorb oil as the skimming surface is rotated.

Harvester systems and methods for use in liquid environments are disclosed herein. In an embodiment, a harvester includes a cutter assembly and a frame. The cutter assembly is configured to remove solid material from a liquid environment and includes a cutter housing, one or more cutting blades for cutting the solid material, and a hose connector configured for connection to a hose for pumping the solid material out of the cutter housing. The frame is configured to attach the cutter assembly to a plurality of different vehicles configured to operate in the liquid environment and includes a first adjustment assembly adjustable for removable attachment to the plurality of different vehicles and a second adjustment assembly adjustable to raise the cutter assembly above a surface of the liquid environment and to lower the cutter assembly at least partially into the liquid environment.
