Block Retaining Wall with Micro-Pile Soldier Piles
20190003142 · 2019-01-03 · ·

A retaining wall system includes a plurality of large mass retaining blocks formed with vertically oriented openings passing therethrough for the installation of micro-pile soldier piles. The retaining blocks can be formed of pre-cast concrete and stacked vertically so that the vertical openings are aligned for the installation of micro-pile soldier piles through the stacked retaining blocks and into the bedrock below the retaining blocks. The micro-pile soldier piles can include a steel casing that is installed through the aligned vertical openings to terminate at the bedrock with grout filling the steel casing except for optional reinforcement. The retaining blocks can be formed with cutout key openings that allow concrete to be inserted to provide a key interlock between adjacent retaining blocks to further stabilize the retaining wall. The retaining wall can also include a row of waler blocks that incorporate a pair of tie-back anchors for each waler block.

Sheet pile bulkhead systems and methods

A system that includes a plurality of front faces configured to be arranged end-to-end in a series. Adjacent front faces are connected together by a different X-shaped or X-wye connector that facilitates installation of reinforcement tail walls. At least one tail wall is connected to each connector. A redundant reinforcing tail wall may be constructed and attached to one of the connectors to provide alternative load path(s).

A WHARF CONSTITUTED BY ARCHED WALLS AND PLANE TIES.

The invention relates to a retaining work (12) in ground (S), the work having a vertical front portion and separating a first portion of ground (S1) from a second portion of ground.

The front portion (14) is in the form of juxtaposed arched walls (16), each arched wall (16) presenting a concave side facing the first portion of ground and a convex side facing the second portion of ground, and the retaining work (12) further includes a rear portion (20) comprising a plurality of wall elements (22) having their largest faces extending vertically in the second portion of ground (S2), each wall element (22) being arranged between two adjacent arched walls (16) and extending transversely relative to the front portion (14).

Cellular sheet pile retaining systems with unconnected tail walls, and associated methods of use

Embodiments of the disclosure are directed to cellular sheet pile retaining wall systems with unconnected tail walls, and associated methods of use and manufacture. In one embodiment, a retaining system includes a face wall having a plurality of interconnected face wall sheet piles. The individual face wall sheet piles have a first length and extend a first depth into soil, and the face wall sheet piles form an exterior surface facing an exterior environment. The system also includes a tail wall including a plurality of interconnected tail wall sheet piles extending from the face wall away from the exterior environment. The individual tail wall sheet piles have a second length greater than the first length, and the individual tail sheet wall piles extend a second depth into the soil that is greater than the first depth.
