FLARED REINFORCED PIER AND PIER BRACKET ASSEMBLY AND METHODS OF MANUFACTURING AND USE
20230066468 · 2023-03-02 · ·

A starter pier for a pier bracket assembly that is used support a structure (e.g., a foundation of a building, or the like). The starter pier has a first end, a second end, and an intermediate portion. The first end may be a flared first end that is swaged using a die. A reinforcing member may be inserted into the flared first end to provide support for the flared first end of the starter pier. The reinforcing member may be operatively coupled to the flared first end of the starter pier by compressing the flared first end around the reinforcing member using a mold. Additionally, or alternatively, the reinforcing member may be press-fit into the starter pier, connectors may be used, or the like to operatively couple the flared first end to the reinforcing member.

OFF-SHORE WIND TURBINE SYSTEM AND METHOD OF INSTALLATION
20230160369 · 2023-05-25 ·

An off-shore wind turbine system is assembled using a platform or jack-up vessel, and a first base anchored to the seafloor at a bade assembly off-shore location. A buoyant tower is attached to the first base. A crane provided on the platform or jack-up vessel is used to lift blades and blades, which are then coupled to a turbine held in a nacelle provided at the top of the buoyant tower. The buoyant tower, the nacelle, and the blades are detached from the first base. The buoyant tower, the nacelle, and the blades are towed to a wind farm and connected to a second base provided in the wind farm. The buoyant tower, the nacelle, and the blades are further stabilized using mooring lines spanning between the buoyant towers and other bases provided in the wind farm. The first base and/or the second base include anti-rotation features.

Eccentric Suction Pile Pump with Hinged Lift Appliance
20230071305 · 2023-03-09 ·

Assembly of a suction pile and a pump system temporary connected by convenient means to the suction space of the suction pile, wherein the pump system bears onto the top of the upward extending suction pile. Between suction pile and pump system a quick connector is operative comprising a pin operated by actuator means of the pump system to move between a releasing retracted and locking extended position. It has one or more of: a pump interface remote from the protective frame; an auxiliary support frame; a hinged lift appliance; a level indicator; a docking cone designed to penetrate the suction pile interface means.

Subsea Foundations
20220316170 · 2022-10-06 ·

A method of constructing a sliding subset foundation comprises embedding at least one mass of rocks in seabed soil and placing a sliding mudmat on the seabed over the or each mass of rocks. The rocks may be lowered into a cavity in the seabed by dumping the rocks into the cavity or when contained within a gabion that is inserted into the cavity. Alternatively, a gabion containing the rocks may penetrate the seabed soil, driven by self-weight or additionally by a deadweight bearing on the gabion. The gabion may be lowered toward tie seabed suspended from the deadweight. The deadweight may be removed and recovered after the gabion has been embedded in the seabed. The mass of rocks are embedded within an area of excursion of the mudmat to ensure that the mudmat will be directly above the mass of rocks at any position within the area of excursion.

FIXATION DEVICE AND INSTALLATION METHOD
20220315169 · 2022-10-06 ·

The invention relates to an elongate fixation device (1) for use in subsea anchoring, and a method for installation. The device (1) has a triple nested stem arrangement, the innermost stem (2) of which has a cutter (9) disposed at a distal end and a tapered section (8) located adjacent to and proximally behind the cutter (9). An intermediate stem (3) surrounds at least a central portion of the inner stem (2) and has one or more flareable cutting fingers (7) at its distal end. An outer stem (4) surrounds a proximal portion of the intermediate stem (3). The inner (2) and intermediate (3) stems are coupled by a first releasable coupling (17) which when released allows relative axial motion along a first distance. The outer and intermediate stems are coupled by a second releasable coupling (18) which when released allows relative axial motion along a second distance. The intermediate stem 3 is nested within the outer stem (4), in some cases for at least a majority of the outer stem (4). In some examples, the outer stem (4) has a rotationally driveable portion 10 and the inner stem 2 has a tensioning nut (12) for adjusting the relative axial positions of the inner (2) and outer 4 stems. The tensioning nut (12) and the driveable portion (10) are coupleable to a single rotational drive (23). The invention also relates a method for installation and to installation apparatus (21).

UPENDING AND LIFTING TOOL
20230137682 · 2023-05-04 · ·

To upend and lift an object, e.g. a foundation member of an offshore wind turbine, e.g. a monopole, use is made of an upending and lifting tool, wherein, with the tool suspended from one or more hoisting cables, e.g. from a crane hook of a crane, and with the frame of the tool initially in vertical orientation, a routine is performed which includes operating one or more shifting actuators, thereby moving a cable shifting member and engaging a cable engagement surface with the one or more hoisting cables at a height above a pivot axis. Further continuing this motion of the cable shifting member and thereby applying a cable shifting force on the one or more hoisting cables results, in reaction, in a pivoting of the frame into the horizontal orientation thereof.
