Modular block retaining wall system
10273649 · 2019-04-30 ·

A system for building a wall includes a plurality of blocks and a plurality of connectors for aligning the blocks in successive courses. Each block has opposing first and second surfaces bounded by opposing front and rear faces and opposing end faces, the first and second surfaces being profiled with respective first and second rectilinear channels extending parallel to the front and rear faces. Each connector has first and second portions profiled for reception in respective first and second channels, the first portion being profiled to slide but not rotate in the first channel, the second portion being profiled to slide and rotate in the second channel. The second portion is offset from the first portion so that two different orientations of two blocks placed against each other are possible. The blocks preferably have a trapezoidal shape cut with only straight cuts to facilitate using natural stone.

Retaining wall

Disclosed is an economical and effective way of producing a modular retaining wall for a material to be retained, using only blocks which in and of themselves are of insufficient thickness to function as retaining wall blocks. The modular wall includes backer blocks and facing blocks which are connected by separate connectors in a back to back, spaced apart arrangement, thereby forming a hollow retaining wall. The hollow wall is filled with loose filler material to increase the mass and retaining capacity of the wall. None of the wall components is embedded in the material to be retained. Further disclosed are wall components and a wall kit for a modular retaining wall. A double sided decorative wall is also disclosed. The modular wall system allows for the construction of retaining walls and freestanding, double sided, decorative walls forming both straight and curved walls.

VERTICAL MANHOLE APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR PROVIDING ACCESS TO LEACHATE COLLECTION PIPES IN A LANDFILL

A wall system includes a counterfort retaining wall forming at least one tier of the wall system, the counterfort retaining wall including counterfort beams and wall panels. The wall system further includes a mechanically stabilized earth (MSE) wall, the MSE wall positioned above the counterfort retaining wall. A bottom layer of the MSE wall is positioned above the counterfort beams of the counterfort retaining wall. The wall system further includes a plurality of fascia panels spaced horizontally from a face of the MSE wall and the wall panels of the counterfort retaining wall.

Tieback anchor alignment and access device

A tieback alignment and access device has a hollow core and vertically aligned angled anchor subassemblies that provide attachment points for tieback anchors that pass laterally through the hollow core. The hollow core is configured to allow a cutting tool (e.g., a drill bit) to be inserted therein longitudinally and used to cut the tieback anchors at any time. When cast into a contiguous temporary support-of-excavation wall, the angled anchor subassemblies are set back from an outwardly facing surface of the wall resulting in a smooth surface.

Comprehensive excavation process

Disclosed is a comprehensive excavation process performed on an excavation site. The process includes installing wellpoints for lowering the groundwater level within the excavation site and stabilizing the boundary soil walls of the excavation site by an improved soil nailing method. The improved soil nailing method employs casing pipes that are part of the wellpoint system as reinforcing elements for the stabilization of the soil walls.

Method and apparatus for stabilising a dike

A method of stabilizing a dike using a ground anchor assembly, includes: connecting a ground anchor to a first end of a tensile member; introducing the ground anchor through the earth body and into a stable layer beneath the dike; providing a pressure distributing member on or around the tensile member at a position within the dike where stabilization against lateral earth movement is required; and connecting a second end of the tensile member to a counter member at an outer surface of the dike.

Geosynthetic connection systems and methods for mechanically stablized earth walls
10161099 · 2018-12-25 · ·

A connection system for stabilizing an earth wall is disclosed. The system may include a geosynthetic loop assembly partially embedded within a concrete panel. The geosynthetic loop assembly may include a plurality of spaced apart geosynthetic loops that may be connected by at least one transverse geosynthetic strip. The geosynthetic loops are partially embedded within the concrete panel and partially extending from a front face of the concrete panel in generally aligned relationship. The system may also include a geosynthetic reinforcement web including a plurality of longitudinal geosynthetic strips and a plurality of transverse geosynthetic strips. The web may be folded to form a fold and the longitudinal strips adjacent the fold may be positioned adjacent the geosynthetic loops extending from the front face of the concrete panel in aligned relationship to form a passageway. The system may include a locking member disposed in the passageway to engage the geosynthetic loop assembly to the geosynthetic reinforcement web.
