Membrane-lined wall
A membrane-lined wall for levee reinforcement or leak prevention, prevention of water migration, and pollution control of impoundments. The membrane-lined wall generally includes a cementitious or concrete wall formed within an excavated trench. The concrete may be internally reinforced, and the wall may also comprise a double-layer of impermeable geomembrane liner that forms a barrier between the concrete and the sides and bottom of the trench. The membrane or liner reduces water migration, prevents levee leakage, and prevents the escape of contaminants in impoundments.
Injectable tie back cover for waterproofing, apparatus, and a method of using same
The present invention relates generally to an injectable tie back cover for waterproofing, apparatus, and a method of using same. The invention encompasses a substantially domed shaped structure having at least one surface along the domed shaped structure, and having an edge flanged surface which is placed over a tieback head, and where the injectable tieback cover is used as a waterproofing apparatus. A supplemental injectable tubing can also be provided around the outside of the substantially domed shaped structure, which injectable tubing can be injected with a secondary waterproofing material to provide additional waterproofing to the area around the injectable tie back cover facing the concrete or shotcrete. The domed shaped structure can also have at least one dome channel to accommodate at least one injectable tieback cover tubing. The invention also provides a method of using the inventive injectable tie back cover for waterproofing structures.
Pre-cast decorative retaining wall system
The present invention is directed to a Pre-cast Decorative Retaining Wall consisting of concrete walls constructed on a horizontal surface normally at a manufacturing facility, on rolling platforms, or preferably built on the construction site where after curing to 3000 psi the pre-fabricated walls can be shipped to and installed at a building site. In the flat state the panels can have a wide variety of decorative elements readily applied to both the upper and lower downside reflection surface. A unique feature is the buttress system that is added to the back of the wall system when elevated retention is required. By pouring the buttress portion on top of the footing pier or caisson, and tying into the pre-decorated wall with reinforcement, an eco-friendly, design optional retaining wall system is accomplished which can be rapidly and safely installed.
Casing assembly for forming CIP retaining wall and method for forming CIP retaining walls using the casing assembly
A casing assembly for forming a cast-in-place pile (CIP) retaining wall based on a CIP method. The assembly comprising: a hollow elongate cylinder having a hollow cylindrical inner space defined therein; a H-beam guide received within the hollow cylindrical inner space of the hollow elongate cylinder; and a first H beam having a vertical column form and inserted into the H-beam guide, wherein the H-beam guide includes: a hollow beam-guide frame having a rectangular cross-section such that the first H beam is insertably guided in and along the hollow beam-guide frame; and an outer rounded frame coupled to an outer face of the hollow beam-guide frame, wherein an outer face of the outer rounded frame conforms to an inner face of the hollow elongate cylinder, wherein a top portion of the outer rounded frame is fixed to a top portion of the hollow elongate cylinder via a fastening flange.
Retainment wall for underground mine and method of construction
A retainment wall for underground horizontally extending mine shafts wherein a spaced vertical series of horizontal support ribs are secured to one or more upright supports that are secured in the mine shaft between the side walls thereof. Porous material covers and is secured to the forward retaining face of the wall structure. If the retainment wall structure is to be used as a fill retainment barrier the porous material is spray coated with a settable sealant which covers the forward face of the wall structure and the perimeter thereof to seal off the mine shaft.
Seawall construction using concrete forms
A method for constructing a seawall section includes coupling an end of a substantially-waterproof barrier member to a footing. A concrete form is mounted to the footing such that a top end of the form is higher than an exposed upper surface of the footing. The concrete form defines at least part of a fill volume. Another end of the barrier member is coupled to the concrete form such that the barrier member extends over a side of the concrete form opposite the fill volume. Concrete is then poured into the fill volume and cured to form the seawall section. Prior to the curing, a body of water at the footing may be higher than the upper surface of the footing. However, the barrier member prevents water from entering the fill volume through the concrete form.
