SANDBAG FILLING DEVICE
A sand bag filling device comprises a trailer having a foldable post with a distribution head at a top of the vertical post. This distribution head is attached to a plurality of filling spouts which extend downwardly and outwardly from the head to positions surrounding the head. A rotatable chute is positioned at the top of the head for receiving sand from a conveyor and for supplying that sand to each in turn of the filling spouts. The post is formed in three portions each pivotally movable relative to the next, with an intermediate post portion pivotally hinged to a top and a bottom post portion at diametrically opposite sides of the post. The filling spouts are attached via readily releasable couplings to funnels communicating the rotatable chute in appropriate position therewith. There may be up to 18 to 24 spouts.
Method of manufacturing a compost filter sock that is linearly stable during filling
A compost filter netting comprises plastic netting formed in a tube having a diameter of 6-36 wherein the plastic netting includes netting openings of - and configured to be filled with compost to form a compost filter sock, wherein the linear length of the compost filter sock is not less than 93% of the linear length of the originally manufactured empty compost filter netting. A method of forming a compost filter sock using the compost filter netting and the compost filter sock made thereby is disclosed. The compost filter netting substantially eliminates the problem of miscalculation of shrink rate that is problematic for in field applications.
Rigid retaining bag
Embodiments of the present invention relate to a bag including at least one flexible sheet of material, a back substantially orthogonal to a bottom, a front opposite the back, and a side comprising an envelope configured to receive a support structure.
Shape-retaining hoist type rectangular parallelepiped bag having multistage configuration
A shape-retaining hoist type rectangular parallelepiped bag includes: a rectangular parallelepiped bag that is a generally rectangular parallelepiped-shaped bag that has an internal space to accommodate an accommodated object; a bottom surface holding mechanism configured to hold a bottom surface by application of a tensile force thereto; a side surface holding mechanism configured to hold a side surface by application of a tensile force thereto; a central hanging body configured to extend in a vertical direction with one end thereof being fixed to a center of the bottom surface of the rectangular parallelepiped bag and hold the bottom surface holding mechanism and the side surface holding mechanism at intermediate positions in the vertical direction; and a ring-shaped hook holding portion connected to the other end of the central hanging body, to which a hook is to be attached. This provides a rectangular parallelepiped bag that is less likely to tear despite its small aspect ratio and large height, can compact soil particles by stages in its height direction, has a stable strength even when the bag has a large height as in a case where the bag has a ratio between a height and a width of the bag exceeding 1:1, for example, and is less likely to be deformed when lifted upwardly in the vertical direction.
Bag For Shoring Bank Of Body of Water
A bag assembly for repairing a receded bank includes a fabric bag having a closable opening; and a mesh cover surrounding the bag. The bag assembly is filled with a fill material and has an end portion that is fastened to remain closed. The mesh cover can be applied over and around the bag after the bag is filled. The mesh cover is resistant to penetration by burrowing animals, such as muskrats. A method is described for restoring a bank on a body of water that is resistant to burrowing animals and includes the steps of: stacking a plurality of courses of bag assemblies to form a wall spaced from a face of a receded bank, wherein each bag assembly comprises a fabric bag filled with fill material and surrounded by a mesh cover; and filling the void between the wall and the receded bank with fill material. The method can include the further step of before the step of stacking bag assemblies, placing a blanket of mesh over the face of the receded bank.
FOLDABLE BARRIER STRUCTURE
The present invention relates to a foldable barrier structure comprising a compartment bounded by a pair of opposed side walls and a pair of opposed end walls, at least one pair of opposed side or end walls being formed from a flexible, foldable material incorporating a stiffening element and a means for receiving a hinge member which permits folding of a central region of each opposed side or end wall of the at least one pair of side or end walls.
Also provided is a multi-compartmental foldable barrier structure comprising a multiplicity of such compartments connected, affixed or adhered to one another end to end, as well as a flood defence barrier comprising a first multi-compartmental foldable barrier structure provided with a continuous length of water impermeable material extending across the individual structures along at least one side of the barrier; a second multi-compartmental foldable barrier structure provided with a continuous length of water impermeable material extending across the individual structures along at least one side of the barrier; and fastening means for fastening the first multi-compartmental foldable barrier structure to the second multi-compartmental foldable barrier structure.
Flood defense barrier
The present invention provides a flood defense barrier comprising a first plurality of individual compartments connected by a first, non-releasable fastening means, wherein the plurality of individual compartments comprises at least one second, releasable, fastening means effective for releasably fastening the first plurality of individual compartments to a second plurality of individual compartments. Also provided is a flood defense barrier comprising a first plurality of individual compartments connected together and provided with a continuous length of water impermeable material extending across the individual compartments along at least one side of the barrier, a second plurality of individual compartments connected together and provided with a continuous length of water impermeable material extending across the individual compartments along at least one side of the barrier, and fastening means for fastening the first plurality of individual compartments to the second plurality of individual compartments, as well as methods of deploying said flood defense barrier and uses thereof.
Also provided is a multi-compartmental foldable barrier structure comprising a multiplicity of such compartments connected, affixed or adhered to one another end to end, as well as a flood defense barrier comprising a first multi-compartmental foldable barrier structure provided with a continuous length of water impermeable material extending across the individual structures along at least one side of the barrier; a second multi-compartmental foldable barrier structure provided with a continuous length of water impermeable material extending across the individual structures along at least one side of the barrier; and fastening means for fastening the first multi-compartmental foldable barrier structure to the second multi-compartmental foldable barrier structure.
