Detecting and alleviating flooding and blocked storm sewers
A device for detecting and alleviating flooding and blocked storm sewers includes a manhole cover coupled to a float body. The device also includes a canister having a drain hole and a valve. The device also includes multiple guides that can catch onto part of a sewer. The device is configured such that when water flows into the canister, the manhole cover, float body, and guides rise and the valve is opened.
Closure systems, debris caps, holder devices, and related technologies
A cap assembly can include a cap holder device with a plug member and a cap holder. The cap holder device is positionable in an end of a conduit positioned along a roadway. The cap holder is carried by the plug member and includes a magnetic element and a connector. The connector is connectable to the magnetic element to the plug member such that the magnetic element is movable relative to the plug member so as to position the magnetic element for releasably holding a cap that covers the end of the conduit when the plug member is positioned in the conduit. The cap assembly can be a debris cap insertable in a conduit, an end of a pipe, or other opening.
FLOATING MANHOLE COVER ASSEMBLY
A manhole cover assembly comprises a base frame, the base frame comprising a base body and a base flange extending laterally outward from the base body. The assembly further comprises a top frame, the top frame comprising a top body disposed annularly about at least a portion of the base body, a top flange extending laterally outward from the top body, and a lip extending laterally inward from the top body.
ADJUSTABLE COVER FOR ROADWAY OPENING
A manhole cover system for a roadway includes a rotationally fixed outer support securable to an interior of a roadway opening, and an inner sleeve positioned inside of the outer support. The outer support and the inner sleeve share a common central axis. A manhole cover is located at an upper vertical end of the inner sleeve, and a threaded arrangement including a support thread of the outer support is engaged with a complimentary sleeve thread of the inner sleeve, such that rotation of the inner sleeve about the central axis moves the inner sleeve and the manhole cover along the central axis.
ADJUSTABLE MANHOLE COVER
A manhole cover assembly has an inner cylinder and an outer cylinder. An upper ratchet mechanism extends axially and circumferentially about an outwardly facing surface of the inner cylinder. A lower ratchet mechanism extends axially and circumferentially about an inwardly facing surface of the outer. The lower ratchet mechanism is configured to mesh with the upper ratchet mechanism at one of a plurality of distinct ratcheting positions. A cover plate is disposed on one of the inner cylinder and the outer cylinder. The cover plate is at a first elevation when the lower ratchet mechanism meshes with the upper ratchet mechanism at a first distinct ratcheting position. The cover plate is at a second elevation when the lower ratchet mechanism meshes with the upper ratchet mechanism at a second distinct ratcheting position. The first elevation is different from the second elevation.
FRAME POSITIONING DEVICE FOR POSITIONING A FRAME OVER AN INLET OF A CATCH BASIN OR MANHOLE AND METHOD FOR POSITIONING THE SAME
A device for positioning a frame over a head of a catch basin or manhole, comprising: an elongated body extending between a first end and a second end, the elongated body having an adjustable length, the first end second ends of the elongated body being adapted to abut opposite sections of a top face of the head; and a first leveling member and a second leveling member each secured to the elongated member such that a distance between the first and second leveling members varies when the length of the elongated body varies, the first and second leveling members each comprising: a guide member extending from the elongated member; and a frame receiving member slidably and rotatably secured to the elongated member, the frame receiving member being configured for receiving and supporting a lower end of the frame in order to position and orient the frame relative to the head.
Temporary manhole cover and method
A temporary manhole cover and its methods of use are configured to prevent an entire person from falling into a manhole, while providing a unique structure, adjustable in some embodiments, that allows access for a user to simultaneously reach through and/or pass objects through the temporary manhole cover when it is installed in a manhole. The structure may include an annular perimeter portion optionally having an L-shaped cross-section defining a circular interior opening there-through, a first set of two parallel laterally-separated cross-members each attached with and extending across the circular opening, and a second set of two parallel laterally-separated cross-members each extending perpendicularly between and attached with the first set of two parallel laterally-separated cross-members.
Cover or trapdoor which is height-adjustable and relevant installation method
A kit for producing and method for positioning a cover or trapdoor which is height-adjustable includes providing a frame adapted to be mounted on a base in a manner that is telescopically slidable to a limited extent therein so to be height-adjusted with respect to the base, and at least one cover member which is detachably coupled to the frame and which is adapted to be received in an opening thereof, and providing the as a mold adapted to produce the base from reinforced concrete.
LEVELING MAN-HOLE COVER SYSTEM AND METHOD OF USE
A leveling man-hole cover system facilitates the top of a man-hole cover being flush with the surrounding surface of a street. The cover rests on a riser and prevents the entry of liquids to the man-hole with the aid of a seal. The riser has threads that attach with the threads of a base to allow for the height adjustment to the lid. The base sits on the top of a preexisting or common ring of a man-hole.
