RETRIEVAL ARRANGEMENT FOR A RIPPER OF A MACHINE
A retrieval arrangement for a ripper of a machine includes a bollard that is disposed towards a rear portion of the machine. The bollard includes a base that is disposed along a mid-plane of the ripper and connected to the ripper via a ripper carriage. A method for retrieving the ripper includes positioning a sling around the bollard, and pulling the sling using another machine such that the bollard is biased in the direction away from the ripper carriage.
REAR FRAME FOR A MOTOR GRADER
A rear frame for a motor grader includes a pair of arms that are disposed equidistantly from a mid-plane. Each arm has a front portion, a rear portion, and a mid-portion located between the front and rear portions. The front portion of each arm is configured to pivotally couple with a front frame of the motor grader. The rear frame also includes a ripper mounting arrangement, a bumper, and a torque resisting member. The ripper mounting arrangement is located at a rear end of the rear portion of each arm. The bumper is laterally disposed with respect to the mid-plane and rigidly attached to a position on the rear portion of each arm located adjacent the rear end of the rear portion of each arm. The torque resisting member is laterally disposed with respect to the mid-plane and rigidly attached to the mid-portion of each arm.
Pull-slip control system for track-type tractor and track-type tractor operating method
Operating a tractor with a front ground-engaging implement and a back ground-engaging implement includes calculating an error between a real-time pull-slip ratio and a target pull-slip ratio, and engaging the back ground-engaging implement with material of an underlying substrate to reduce the error. Related hardware and control logic are also disclosed.
AUTOMATIC INTERLOCK SYSTEM
An automatic interlock system for a motor grader is disclosed. The automatic interlock system may include one or more processors. The one or more processors may be configured to determine an operating mode for the motor grader based on one or more operating parameters of the motor grader. The one or more processors may be configured to determine an interlock configuration for the motor grader based on the operating mode. The one or more processors may be configured to selectively activate or deactivate one or more interlocks of the motor grader based on the interlock configuration.
Ground engaging tool control system and method
A ground engaging tool control system including a first sensor system, a second sensor system, a first actuator system, a second actuator system, and an electronic data processor. The first and second sensor systems detect respective positions of a first ground engaging tool and a second ground engaging tool. The first actuator system is coupled to the first ground engaging tool and the second actuator system is coupled to the second ground engaging tool. The electronic data processor determines a target grade profile and generates two or more control signals to adjust target positions of the first ground engaging tool and the second ground engaging tool. The target position of the second ground engaging tool is determined based on at least one of a position of the first ground engaging tool or the comparison of a current grade profile and a desired grade profile.
Work machines including automatic grading features and functions
Work machines including automatic grading features and functions. One exemplary embodiment is a work machine including a chassis, ground contacting members rotatably coupled with the chassis and an actuator coupled with the chassis. A pole assembly extends above the chassis. A receiver is coupled with the pole assembly and structured to detect a wireless signal. An electronic controller is in operative communication with the receiver and the actuator, the electronic controller structured to adjust an actuator in response to a wireless signal detected by the receiver. The actuator is adjustable to vary position of the receiver and to vary position of a grading tool assembly coupled with a suspension.
Control system for a machine
A system for controlling operation of a first material engaging work implement includes a first machine, a second machine, and a controller. The controller is configured to store a kinematic model and characteristics of the implement system, determine a second machine operation zone, with the second machine operation zone being defined by a material movement plan of the second machine, and determine a current pose of the first machine. The controller is further configured to determine a first machine operation zone based upon the pose of the first machine, the kinematic model and characteristics of the implement system, and the second machine operation zone, with the first machine operation zone being spaced from the second machine operation zone, and generate a plurality of command signals to move the first material engaging work implement within the first machine operation zone between a first position and a second position.
System and method for determining stale terrain value of worksite
A control system for determining a stale terrain value for use by an autonomous machine is provided. The control system includes a controller associated with the autonomous machine operating on a work surface. The controller is configured to receive position data associated with the autonomous machine from a position sensing system. The controller is configured to receive data related to a dump operation to be performed by the autonomous machine. The data includes a distance between a start location and an end location, a distance between two adjacent piles of material, and an average speed of travel of the autonomous machine. The controller is configured to determine the stale terrain value associated with the work surface. The controller is configured to trigger a control signal for shutting down the dump operation of the autonomous machine on approaching the stale terrain value based on receiving an operator input.
MOTOR GRADER WITH MID-MOUNT SCARIFIER SYSTEM
A motor grader including a frame and a scarifier system coupled to the frame. The scarifier system includes a first pin member and second pin member both coupled to the frame and interconnected to one another. The scarifier system also includes a first and second arcuate drawbar arms in spaced relation and coupled to the first pin member and a carriage. An actuator is coupled to the first arcuate drawbar arm and the second pin member to rotate the carriage about a pivot axis of the first pin member.
