VACUUM EXCAVATOR TANK AND DOOR SYSTEM
20240017658 · 2024-01-18 ·

A collection tank for a mobile vacuum excavator includes a front with a closed end, a rear with an open end, a door configured to be closed over the open end, and a linkage assembly having a first end attached to the door and a second end attached to the body. A first pivotal movement drives the first end and second end away from each other, and a second pivotal movement moves the first end and the second end toward each other. An actuator is attached to the first arm and to the second arm so that actuation of the actuator in a first direction drives the first pivotal movement and actuation of the actuator in a second direction drives the second arm the second pivotal movement.

HYDRO EXCAVATION VACUUM APPARATUS HAVING AN ADJUSTMENT SYSTEM FOR ADJUSTING A DEWATERING SYSTEM SCREEN

Hydro excavation vacuum apparatus that process spoil material onboard the apparatus by separating water from the cut earthen material are disclosed.

Suction excavator with flow reversal and method for controlling same

A suction excavator includes a suction hose with a suction opening for pneumatically receiving solid or liquid suction material using a fast-flowing air stream. The suction excavator has a separator for separating the suction material from the air stream, a filter unit for cleaning the air stream, a fan unit for generating the air stream, and a recirculation channel that is connected to the pressure side of the fan unit via a volume-controllable recirculation opening. A volume-controllable secondary air opening allows secondary air from the surroundings to be supplied to the suction side of the fan unit, downstream from the filter unit in the flow direction. The recirculation channel is fluidically coupleable to the suction hose to generate a positive pressure in the recirculation channel to blow out recirculation air through the suction hose.

Boom hose apparatus

A boom hose apparatus for a material collection vehicle includes a telescoping boom assembly and a hose assembly supported by the boom assembly. The boom assembly includes a plurality of telescoping conduits. A flexible hose is received through the telescoping conduits and can slidably extend from, or retract into, the conduits independently from the telescoping of the conduits.

PREDICTIVE REPLACEMENT FOR HEAVY MACHINERY
20200074414 · 2020-03-05 ·

Systems and methods for predicting replacement of a component of an industrial machine. One system includes an electronic processor configured to determine a wear rate of the component based on a current dimension of the component and historical dimensions of the component and determine a replacement cost for the component. Determining the replacement cost includes determining a cost of downtime for replacing the component based on a time for replacing the component and a downtime cost for the industrial machine during the time for replacing the component, a material cost in replacing the component, and an operating cost of the industrial machine associated with not replacing the component. The electronic processor is also configured to determine a replacement recommendation for the component based on the wear rate, the replacement cost, and discard criteria and output the replacement recommendation.

Over-the-Stern Deep Digging Trenching Plow with Instrumentation for Assessing the Protective Capabilities of a Seabed Trench
20200024826 · 2020-01-23 · ·

A seabed trenching plow has a chassis, a sled and a towing assembly. The towing assembly has a pair of wings extending laterally from each side of the chassis. The wings are aligned on an axis transverse to the chassis and adapted for connection to a towing line. The transverse axis is forward of the center of gravity of the plow and rearward of the sled, affording an over the stern releasable and retrievable trenching plow of sufficient weight and strength to excavate a three meter trench in a single pass. To assess the protective capabilities of the trench, a threshold signal indicative of a desired composition of seabed-trench soil is compared with a real-time data signal indicative of the actual to produce an alarm signal when the real-time data signal is not protective-capability compliant with the threshold signal.

High pressure water jet add-on to hydrovac boom hose

A device for coupling to a working end of a hydrovac boom hose includes a tubular suction tube for removably coupling to the working end of the hydrovac boom hose such that an opening of the working end remains unobstructed. A plurality of high pressure turbo nozzles configured for emitting high pressure water are located around a circumference of the tubular suction tube such that the turbo nozzles surround the working end of the hydrovac boom hose to dislodge earthly materials under the device. An outer housing to enclose and protect the tubular suction tube, turbo nozzles, and onboard locating device, and to provide an air duct for ambient air to pass down threw. A plurality of air vents in the outer housing that provide flow of ambient air to an area being excavated. The conduit coupled with the outer housing, for allowing ingress of water to the plurality of high pressure turbo nozzles.
