Ground Engaging Machine
A ground engaging tooth for a ground engaging machine is disclosed. The ground engaging tooth may comprise a non-ground-engaging end, a ground-engaging end, a body extending between the non-ground-engaging end, the ground-engaging end, a top surface, a bottom surface, a left surface and a right surface. Further, the ground engaging tooth may comprise a coupling side including a pocket configured to receive a retaining device. Moreover, the ground engaging tooth may comprise a wear side including an integral-wear-insert. The integral-wear-insert may longitudinally extend along the bottom surface towards the ground-engaging end and vertically extend towards the top surface at the ground-engaging end.
GROUND ENGAGING COMPONENT AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE SAME
A method for manufacturing a ground engaging component is disclosed. The method includes providing a mixture of compacted powders including carbon, titanium, and a first alloy, the first alloy having a first composition and heating the mixture to a temperature and for a duration sufficient to combine the mixture to form an insert having a desired shape. The method further includes locating the insert in a desired position in a mold and casting a second alloy having a second composition into the mold, the second alloy forming a ground engaging component with the insert bonded therein.
WORK IMPLEMENT ASSEMBLY USING A CENTER ADAPTER MATING WITH A NOTCHED BASE EDGE
An adapter includes a first leg, a second leg, and a throat portion that define a slot defining a direction of assembly onto a work implement assembly, a lateral direction that is perpendicular to the direction of assembly, and a vertical direction that is perpendicular to the direction of assembly and the lateral direction. The throat portion further includes a first throat side surface disposed along the lateral direction and a second throat side surface disposed on the opposite side of the throat portion along the lateral direction. The first throat side surface defines a first adapter cover receiving recess.
MICROTRENCHING BLADES WITH REPLACEABLE CUTTERS
A replaceable tooth assembly. A number of tooth assemblies are provided round the periphery of a microtrenching blade. The assemblies include a cartridge, usually welded to the periphery of the microtrenching blade, and a tooth, which has a projection or flange shaped to fit within a cavity formed in the cartridge. The cartridge and projection each have a transverse hole formed in them, which, when aligned, form a continuous passage for placement of a removable pin which is used to join the cartridge to the tooth body. The cartridge may also have a more radially-aligned channel which intersects the cavity, which a rubber shim may be placed in. Such a shim reduces the relative vibration between the tooth and cartridge, improving life and reducing wear.
Retention system for attaching tool bits to a blade assembly
A tool bit includes a shank portion defining a longitudinal axis, a free end, and a perimeter, at least one anti-rotation feature on the perimeter extending to the free end, and a cross-hole defining a cross-hole axis along which the cross-hole extends through the shank portion. The tool bit also including a working portion extending downwardly axially from the shank portion. The working portion includes a rear region, a front working region defining a width with a midpoint, a first side region and a second side region. The first side region and the second side region define an angle of extension measured in a plane perpendicular to the longitudinal axis. The cross-hole axis pass through the width of the front working region when projected onto a plane perpendicular to the longitudinal axis.
GEOMETRIC PROFILE FOR IMPROVED MANUFACTURABILITY OF A GROUND ENGAGING TOOL
A wear member includes a first leg, a second leg, and a throat portion connecting the first leg to the second leg. The first leg defines a first leg thickness, and the throat portion defines a throat portion thickness disposed adjacent to the first leg thickness. A ratio of the throat portion thickness to the first leg thickness ranges from 1.1 to 1.2.
IMPACT AND WEAR RESISTANT COMPONENT, AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME
A ripper shank as the impact and wear resistant component is made of a steel of a specific component composition which has a hardness of HRC 53 or more and HRC 57 or less. The steel includes a matrix including a martensite phase and a residual austenite phase, and first nonmetallic particles dispersed in the matrix and including at least one species selected from the group consisting of MnS, TiCN, and NbCN. The steel does not include a M23C6 carbide.
FASTENER RETAINING COMPONENT
A fastener retaining component may comprise a first elongated member. A length of the first elongated member may be greater than a diameter of a fastener receiving element of a component. The fastener retaining component may further comprise a second elongated member. A length of the second elongated member may be greater than the diameter of the fastener receiving element. The fastener retaining component may be configured to be press-fit within the fastener receiving element such that press-fitting the fastener retaining component, within the fastener receiving element, increases a tension in the fastener retaining component to cause the first elongated member and the second elongated member to engage with an inner surface of the fastener receiving element and to retain a fastener within the fastener receiving element.
REINFORCED WEAR MEMBER
A reinforced wear member for use in earth-engaging applications. The wear member may have a body with an embedded core. The body may have a leading end and an opposing trailing end. The core may have a front end and an opposing back end wherein a height of the front end is less than a height of the back end. The body may be comprised of a first composition and the core may be comprised of a second composition that is different from the first composition. The first composition may be steel and the second composition may be ceramic. The ceramic core may increase the abrasive resistance of the wear member.
Monitoring ground engaging products for earth working equipment
A monitoring device and system located in a hole in a base of a ground engaging product for monitoring a characteristic of the ground engaging product. The characteristic can pertain to presence, part ID, condition, usage and/or performance of ground-engaging product secured to the earth working equipment. The monitoring system may detect the presence and/or absence of one or more of the components of the ground engaging product.
