Composite tooth with frustoconical insert
12123177 · 2024-10-22 · ·

A composite tooth is described for working the ground or rocks. The tooth includes a ferrous alloy having a portion reinforced at least partially by an insert. The portion reinforced by the insert is configured to allow, after in-situ reaction, the obtention of an alternating macro-microstructure of millimetric areas concentrated with micrometric globular particles of titanium carbides separated by millimetric areas substantially free of micrometric globular particles of titanium carbides. The millimetric areas concentrated with micrometric globular particles of titanium carbides form a microstructure in which the micrometric interstices between the globular particles are also filled by the ferrous alloy. The macro-microstructure generated by the insert is at least 2 mm, preferably at least 3 mm from a distal surface of the tooth.

The invention is a multidirectional auger bit mounted on an auger head, and includes a base portion having a distal end that protrudes in an axial direction of the auger head, and leg portions that is continuous with the base portion. The base portion includes a flat portion that is continuous with the leg portion, first inclined portions that are inclined from the flat portion toward a distal end side in the axial direction of the auger head, left and right side surface portions that are continuous from the first inclined portion, and a second inclined portion that is inclined from the first inclined portion toward a leg portion side in the axial direction of the auger head.

Methods and systems for detecting heavy machine wear

Methods and systems for detecting heavy machine wear. One system includes a heavy machine tooth of an industrial machine having a working end and a mounting end opposite the working end. The system also includes a wear indicator included in the tooth. The wear indicator includes a conductive tip, a conductive outer body extending along at least a length of the tooth, a conductive inner core positioned within the outer body, and insulating material positioned between the outer body and the inner core. The conductive tip is positioned between the working end of the tooth and the outer body and electrically couples the outer body and the inner core to form an electric circuit. The system also includes a transmitter included in the tooth. The transmitter transmits a state of the electric circuit.

ADAPTER AND WEAR TOOL COMPRISING SAME

An adapter is provided for presenting a diamond composite, such as a TSDC, which is bonded therein by a metal matrix composite material. The adapter body is suitable to be received in a complimentary mount formed on a wear face of a wear tool. The approach described allows for machining of individual adapters to provide a precise fit within the wear tool mount without the need for challenging machining of the diamond composite or overcoming the difficulties in precisely bonding multiple diamond composites into their complimentary mounts.

Lock assembly

A lock assembly (1) including a main body (4) and a protruding member (5). The protruding member (5) is biased to normally protrude outwardly of the main body (4) by a biasing component (6), which is formed of rubber or like material. An operating mechanism, operated by a key (9) effects movement of the protruding member (5) between a protruded or locked position, and, a withdrawn or unlocked position.

An article, such as a hardfaced wearpart, includes a substrate, a sheet metal shell connected to the substrate to define a cavity between the surface of the substrate and the shell, and a composite material filling the cavity and forming a coating on at least a portion of the surface of the substrate, the composite material including a hard particulate material infiltrated with a metallic brazing material. The shell may be connected to the substrate by welding or brazing to the substrate, and may wear away during use. The shell and the substrate may be used as part of an assembly for producing the article, where the shell is used as a mold for forming the composite material by filling the shell with the hard particulate material and subsequently infiltrating with the brazing material.
