Fire hydrant valve and method for controlling a water flow in a fire hydrant conduit

A flow control valve for a liquid conduit, such as a fire hydrant valve for insertion in a fire hydrant conduit, comprises a fixed valve body mountable inside the liquid conduit, a displaceable valve body, and an actuator assembly operatively engageable with the displaceable valve body. The fixed valve body has a peripheral wall and defines a longitudinal passageway, and at least one upstream port and a downstream port. The displaceable valve body is inserted into the longitudinal passageway of the fixed valve body and is linearly displaceable therealong between a closed configuration and at least one open configuration. The actuator assembly is operable to linearly displace the displaceable valve body along the longitudinal passageway of the fixed valve body between the closed configuration and the at least one open configuration.

Thermal Dispersion Flow Meter with Fluid Leak Detection and Freeze Burst Prevention

A non-invasive thermal dispersion flow meter with chronometric monitor for fluid leak detection includes a heater, an ambient temperature sensor and a flow rate sensor which are configured to sense the temperature of a fluid in a conduit, and then monitor the flow of that fluid through the conduit. Based upon the ambient temperature sensor readings, the flow rate sensor and heater may be adjusted to optimize the operation of the system to detect leaks. Based on the sensor readings, the flow may be adjusted to prevent damage and leaks by relieving the system of excess pressure. Geographic location, occupancy sensors and occupant identifiers are used to control the system to facilitate operation and minimize leak damage when occupants are away.

Sanitary hydrant

A freeze resistant sanitary hydrant is provided that employs a reservoir for storage of fluid under the frost line or in an area not prone to freezing. To evacuate this reservoir, a means for altering pressure is provided that is able to function in hydrant systems that employ a vacuum breaker.

AUTOMATIC FIRE HYDRANT WATER SUPPLYING SYSTEM
20190277010 · 2019-09-12 ·

An automatic fire hydrant water supplying system provides hydrant supply water to a fire truck having a water pump; a water pump master intake valve; a water-supply fire hose, a pressure sensor upstream of the master-intake-valve, and a water-pump control system. The automatic fire hydrant water supplying system has a remotely-controllable hydrant discharge valve connectable to the hydrant and to the fire-hose. A remotely-controllable air bleed valve is in fluid communication with the master-intake-valve and the fire-hose. The water-pump control system determines whether a pressurized volume in the fire hose upstream of the master-intake-valve input port is air or water based on a difference in density between air and water as sensed by the pressure sensor and if the pressurized volume is air causes the air to be vented to atmosphere through the air-bleed-valve before opening the master-intake-valve to provide hydrant supply water to the water pump.

A system for controlling water delivery in to and out from a structure. A plurality of sensors disposed within the structure determine one or both of a water leak from a water delivery system within the structure and a temperature. A transmitter associated with each one of the plurality of sensors transmits a signal to a controller, the signal indicates a water leak from the water delivery system or a temperature below a predetermined value. A plurality of valves within the structure control the flow of water in to the structure, out from the structure, and within the structure. The controller receives the signal and responsive thereto opens or closes one or more valves to stop water delivery into the structure, to drain water out from the structure, or to control water delivery within the structure.
