METHOD OF STERILIZATION OF BIOLOGICS
Methods of sterilizing biologics or biological components are disclosed wherein the biologic or biological component in solution or suspension form are formed using an annealing step during freeze drying so that a porous solid matrix which allows penetration of a sterilizing gas such as EtO to pass through. The annealing process decreases the particle size of lyophilized material as compared to other methods and provides a more uniform cake that is easy to reconstitute. In addition, the resulting lyophilized material made with the annealing step allows better penetration of the sterilizing gas for more effective and uniform sterilization of the material.
A METHOD FOR REDUCING MALODOUR USING CUCURBITRILS
A method for reducing malodour includes the step of providing a solid composition including one or more cucurbiturils and derivatives and/or analogues thereof suspended in and/or bound by a thermoplastic and/or a thermosetting polymer medium, wherein the source of the malodour is external.
Package, a method and use
According to an example aspect of the present invention, there is provided a box-shaped package, comprising: a base, and a cover configured to be placed on the base to close the package, wherein in a closed configuration of the package, the interface between the base and the cover is gas-tight; the base and/or the cover comprise one or more gas-permeable zones which are capable of passing gases, such as air, into and out from the package, particularly in the closed configuration.
WATER-MISCIBLE FUNCTIONAL FLUID, UNDILUTED STOCK OF WATER-MISCIBLE FUNCTIONAL FLUID, STERILIZER FOR WATER-MISCIBLE FUNCTIONAL FLUID, AND METHOD OF STERILIZING WATER-MISCIBLE FUNCTION FLUID
A water-miscible functional fluid includes: a neutral photosensitizer having an isoalloxazine skeleton; and an antioxidant, wherein the antioxidant is a radical scavenger or a peroxide decomposer.
DISINFECTION METHOD AND APPARATUS
Photosensitizers are incorporated into articles, such a personal protective equipment. A method of applying continuous and consistent light includes fitting the articles with light sources and optical fibers to apply light to the areas of the articles incorporated with the photosensitizers. Photosensitizers can be applied to articles by various applicators in either a gel or solution. A gel can be particularly effective when used on hydrophobic surfaces. Photodynamic reactor systems can be used to determine the effective doses of photosensitizers and the light dosimetry which can then be applied for use with the articles.
GAS STERILIZED CONTINUOUS METABOLIC MONITOR
A metabolic analyte sensor includes a substrate having an electrically conductive surface, an interference layer on the conductive surface, an enzyme layer on the interference layer, and a glucose limiting layer on the enzyme layer. The interference layer or the enzyme layer is configured such that the metabolic analyte sensor has an improved performance characteristic after sterilization compared to before sterilization. A packaged continuous metabolic monitor includes a sealed container; a metabolic sensor in the sealed container for insertion into a patient after the metabolic sensor is removed from the sealed container, the metabolic sensor comprising a conductive surface and an enzyme layer; electronic operating circuitry in the sealed container and coupled to the metabolic sensor; and a residue of a sterilizing gas in the metabolic sensor. The sealed container, the metabolic sensor and the electronic operating circuitry are sterilized together in the sealed container using the sterilizing gas.
ANTIVIRAL METHODS AND COMPOSITIONS
A method of inactivating an enveloped ssRNA virus, such as SARS-CoV-2. The method involves contacting the enveloped ssRNA virus with an antiviral polyelectrolyte compound and/or a conjugated aromatic compound effective to inactivate the virus. The disclosure also provides a method of reducing the period of viability of enveloped ssRNA virus, such as SARS-CoV-2, on personal protective equipment, in filtered air, and on surfaces that have come into contact with the virus.
CARTRIDGE BASED AUTO-INJECTOR
The present invention is an auto-injector for the administration and self-administration of drugs by subcutaneous, intramuscular or intra-dermal injection and for drug solutions or suspensions. The auto-injector may comprise three modules for ease of assembly, the modules principally including a standard cartridge module with stopper and septum, a power source and indicator module that pushes against the cartridge stopper pressurizing contents, an injection progress indicator and a needle shuttle comprising of two needles, one needle being the injection needle and one needle being the septum needle. A needle guard ensures that the needle is always covered thus hiding the needle before and after the injection and that prevents needle stick injurie.
MALODOR COUNTERACTING COMPOSITION AND AGENT AND THE USE THEREOF
A malodor counteracting composition has nefopam, or a polymorph, a hydrate or a solvate thereof. The malodor counteracting composition is useful as an attenuator or suppressor for attenuating or suppressing malodors, such as earthy malodor, musty malodor, and/or moldy malodor caused by malodor causing agents, such as geosmin and 2-methylisoborneol.
Fabrics with Improved Barrier Properties
A fabric suitable as an alcohol repellent fabric is provided. The fabric includes a fibrous substrate including a first outermost surface and a second outermost surface, in which a digitally printed or sprayed alcohol repellent composition is located on at least a portion the first outermost surface, at least a portion of the second outermost surface, or both. The fabric also includes an antistatic composition located on at least a portion the first outermost surface, at least a portion of the second outermost surface, or both.
