System and Method for Controlling an Operational Status of a Waste Disposer

Systems and methods for controlling an operational status of a waste disposer are disclosed herein. In one example embodiment, a waste disposer assembly includes a waste disposer, a sprayer mechanism, and a switching system. The waste disposer is configured to be supported in relation to a sink. The sprayer mechanism is configured to be supportable in relation to the sink, is coupled at least indirectly to the sink by way of an extendable and retractable linkage, and includes an actuator mechanism that, upon being actuated, causes generation of a control signal. The switching system is supported in relation to the sink, is coupled at least indirectly to each of the sprayer mechanism and disposer, and is configured to operate so that, upon receiving the control signal from the actuator mechanism, a related signal is provided to the disposer causing the disposer to change or take on operational status.

Apparatus for capturing and destroying hair within a shower drain

A system for capturing and destroying hair and waste within a shower drain includes a basket placed in the drain which holds a rod including an enzyme blend. The basket captures hair or waste that is washed down shower drains. The enzyme blend neutralizes the hair or waste. The result is a clear drain and clear plumbing, with minimal manual labor. The basket does not require removal because the hair and waste are neutralized before a clog can develop. The enzyme blend is safer for both users and the plumbing systems treated than conventional drain cleaning chemicals.

MOUNTING ASSEMBLIES AND METHODS FOR DISPOSER INSTALLATION

Mounting assemblies for waste disposers such as food waste disposers, waste disposers employing such mounting assemblies, and related methods are disclosed herein. Mounting assemblies include an engagement feature having a first engagement structure located on the body flange and a second engagement structure located on the upper portion of the disposer body. When the engagement feature is in the engaged position, the body flange and the disposer body are engaged, forming a combined disposer and body flange assembly. The combined disposer and body flange assembly can be lifted into alignment with the strainer flange assembly and rotated as a unit to engage the body flange with the mounting flange.

Skirt Valve for Kitchen Sink, and Method of Disposing of Food

The inventive subject matter provides apparatus, systems, and methods in which a valve mechanism is incorporated into a drain to reduce or prevent noise or food fragments from emitting out of an operating garbage disposal. The valve mechanism is generally a skirt valve biased to a closed position, disposed within a housing, and inserted into a drain such that food or fluid passes through the valve into a downstream grinding device. Once the food or fluid has passed through the valve, the valve closes.

An unclogging system for the plumbing of a sink/garbage disposal assembly including a water supply line, a sink drain waste line, a garbage disposal waste line, and an end-outlet tee having a first inlet, a second inlet connected to the sink drain waste line, and an interior baffle disposed adjacent to the first inlet. The system includes a coupling adaptor having a waste-in end attached to the garbage disposal waste line, a waste-out end attached to the first inlet, a hollow interior for the passage of fluid/waste therethrough, and an inlet port. A water jet tube extending through the inlet port into the interior directs water toward the waste-out end and at the baffle. A solenoid valve allowing a flow of water from the water supply line to the water jet tube is coupled to a power outlet, which simultaneously powers the solenoid valve and the garbage disposal.

Hair cutting assembly and related floor drain

Provided is a hair cutting assembly. The hair cutting assembly includes at least one first shearing wheel, first transmission shaft that drives the first shearing wheel to rotate, at least one second shearing wheel and second transmission shaft that drives the second shearing wheel to rotate. Opposite end surfaces of each first shearing wheel and the corresponding second shearing wheel are attached to each other. The first cutting blades, formed by intersecting end surface of the first shearing wheel with side wall, and the second cutting blades, formed by intersecting end surface of the second shearing wheel with side wall, oppositely move in a feed direction, such that long and thin linear sundries such as hairs and fabrics can be continuously shorn. A floor drain with the hair cutting assembly is also provided.
