A method of retrofitting a drainage pipe is disclosed. The method provides removing a pre-existing bathtub drain of a pre-existing bathtub drainage system to expose the concrete-encased drainage pipe, attaching a gasket to an exposed end of the concrete-encased drainage pipe, attaching a drain body to the gasket, attaching a strainer to the drain body, and attaching the drain body to the concrete-encased drainage pipe via the gasket. The drain body and gasket create a water-tight seal with and between the concrete-encased drainage pipe when attached. The method enables a user to convert a pre-existing bathtub drainage pipe to a shower drainage pipe without the added necessity of digging into the concrete surrounding the pre-existing drainage pipe below the pre-existing bathtub drain in order to place a small piece of modern piping material and a secure fastener below the body of the shower drain.

A waterless urinal cartridge, for waterless urinals, includes a housing and a cover. The housing includes a waste reservoir configured to hold a predetermined volume of wastewater, and a drainage aperture configured so that an amount of wastewater exceeding the predetermined volume of wastewater flows through the drainage aperture to exit the housing. The cover is coupled to the housing and includes a sealing fluid reservoir having walls that define the waste reservoir and the drainage aperture, the walls of the sealing fluid reservoir form a containment perimeter with an open bottom so as to contain a sealing fluid floating on top of the predetermined volume of wastewater, and a plurality of fluid passages direct wastewater from the fluid bowl to the sealing fluid reservoir. The waste reservoir includes a fluid flow control feature that restrains wastewater movement within the waste reservoir in response to a change in vehicle dynamics.

Self-adjustable gas isolator

The present invention discloses a self-adjustable gas isolator, including a floater, a liquid storage device, a liquid outlet, a cover plate, a liquid discharging hole and a pressure balancing device. The floater has a pressure relief port; the pressure balancing device is connected with the floater in fixed position; the floater is sleeved in the liquid storage device and the floater goes up and down along with liquid level in the liquid storage device. The sealing device regulates the opening degree between the floater and the liquid outlet automatically according to the liquid volume discharged, and the pressure balancing device releases gas pressure preventing liquid from discharging, and the discharging speed of liquid is fast. The self-adjustable gas isolator is simple in structure, no components for hooking sundries in its channel, and is not easy to jam. When discharging liquid, the floater swings or rotates with self-cleaning function.

A waterless urinal for a vehicle, the urinal including a fluid bowl having a drain, and a waterless urinal cartridge disposed within the drain. The cartridge includes a housing having a waste reservoir disposed within the housing that holds a predetermined volume of urine, and a drainage aperture configured so that an amount of urine exceeding the predetermined volume of urine flows through the drainage aperture to exit the housing. A cover is coupled to the housing and forms part of a surface contour of the bowl, the cover includes a sealing fluid reservoir and fluid passages for directing urine from the bowl to the sealing fluid reservoir. The sealing fluid reservoir is in conmmnication with an internal cavity of the housing, the waste reservoir includes at least one fluid flow control feature configured to restrain urine movement within the waste reservoir in response to a change in vehicle dynamics.

DRAIN SEALING APPARATUS

An in-drain sealing apparatus for being positioned in a drain pipe with an interior surface where the positioning is below a surface mounted grate in a room area. The drain sealing apparatus includes a connector ring defined by a center axis, a lower edge and a peripheral surface, the connector ring positioned in the drain pipe below the grate with a first cylindrical space defined between the drain pipe interior surface and the connector ring peripheral surface. A sealing member is positioned in the first space for sealing the first cylindrical space between the peripheral surface of the connector ring and interior surface of the drain pipe for preventing access from the drain pipe to the room area through the region between the connector ring and the drain pipe. A normally close sealing device is coupled to the connector ring whereby liquid flowing through the grate area into the drain will cause the normally closed sealing device to open allowing the liquid into the drain pipe and then return to its normally closed position when liquid ceases to flow through into the grate.

Visual indicator

A visual indicator for denoting a fluid level in a throat portion of a waterless urinal cartridge is presented. The visual indicator comprises a fluid level indicator disposed in the throat portion of the cartridge. As material buildup occurs inside the cartridge, a corresponding rise in the fluid level in the throat of the cartridge may be seen relative to the indicator, indicating when the cartridge will need replacement. The visual indicator may comprise markings that indicate the level of fluid within the throat portion, reactive materials, or an electronic reader. The fluid level indicator may also be made visible by ultraviolet radiation.

Directional fluid inlet

A fluid inlet portion for a waterless urinal cartridge is presented. The fluid inlet portion comprises to fluid director comprising a non-linear surface proximate a throat portion of the cartridge formed to impart a horizontal velocity component to fluid flowing through the throat portion of the cartridge to reduce vertical turbulence within the fluid. The fluid director can be formed so that it is in fluid communication with at least part of a fluid layer within the cartridge. The non-linear surface imparts a horizontal velocity component, thereby reducing disruption of the fluid layer by fluid flowing through the throat portion of the cartridge. The fluid director may be positioned within the cartridge to impart a substantially horizontal swirling motion to fluid within the cartridge. A fluid deflector proximate the fluid director can receive fluid from the fluid deflector and for re-directing the fluid from the fluid director.
