Stormwater drain inserts
Stormwater drain insert assemblies that reduce or remove environmental runoff during rain storms and the like are disclosed. The stormwater drain insert assemblies include a strainer basket and filter bag that capture sediment, hydrocarbons, heavy metals and other contaminants, but allow water to pass through. The stormwater drain insert assemblies include a top bib of flexible sheet material such as water-impermeable fabric surrounding and supporting the strainer basket. The strainer basket includes at least one raised overflow port extending upwardly from a top panel of the basket. The top bib has a frame that may be adjustable in size in order to fit into various sizes of catch basins, resting on the lip between the top grate and the catch basin.
Filtering drain cover
A two-stage filtering drain cover that can be retrofitted to an existing, original construction, areaway drain cover. The filtering drain cover of the invention inhibits the accumulation of debris on the existing drain cover, and passage of debris into the drain, and helps to prevent clogs and flooding. The outer cover member of the device is configured with passages that permit liquid flow through the outer cover while filtering larger size debris particles that may be entrained in the passing liquid. A perimeter wall on the outer cover and with similar liquid flow passages stops larger debris from passing the outer cover. An inner filter member fits within the outer cover and is configured with relatively smaller passages to obstruct smaller sized debris that may have penetrated the outer cover from passing into the drain.
Device for improving water quality
Disclosed herein is a device for improving the quality of rainwater/stormwater by removing pollutants therefrom. The device comprises a substantially cylindrical tank having an inlet for entry of liquid and an outlet for discharge of liquid. A coarse filter is provided in the tank for filtering relatively coarse pollutants from inflowing liquid, the coarse filter dividing the tank into an upstream first region/chamber and a downstream second region/chamber. A fine pollutant discharge opening is located between the coarse filter and the outlet. A valve comprising a valve member for opening and closing the fine pollutant discharge opening is configured to automatically open the fine pollutant discharge opening to discharge an initial volume of the liquid passing the coarse filter, the valve member being biased toward a configuration for closure of the opening during an inflow event. The liquid passing through the opening bypasses the outlet.
NUTRIENT REMOVAL FILTRATION SYSTEM AND METHOD
Systems, devices, and methods for providing nutrient removals in an up flow filtration storm water system for treating water to very high clean levels using filtration media. A filtration media can be supported by a screen above a floor in a vault allows for incoming storm water to pass into a void space above the floor into the screen and filtration media and then out an outlet to the vault. The filtration media can include recyclable and/or natural particles. Layers of river rocks can be placed on top of and below the filtration media. The captured debris can drop to the floor. The long lasting filtration media can be cleaned by being backwashed.
Inline bioremediation liquid treatment system
A liquid treatment system is provided having a vault that contains a treatment chamber and an outflow chamber. The treatment chamber may have a filtration media layer containing media that treats liquid as it descends through the filtration media layer, where it will accumulate in a porous layer or open space. The liquid will then be directed through the plurality of pipes to the outflow chamber, where the treated liquid is further directed to outside the system. Accumulated debris settled at the bottom of the treatment chamber may be flushed out by a spray bar.
Storm drain sediment filter
A storm drain sediment filter that can be adapted to cover a catch basin and be held in place by a perforated grate. In one embodiment, the filter includes a frame including four L-shaped rigid members, each of which is provided with at least two spaced apart retaining members. The four L-shaped rigid members are arranged such that a rectangular frame is formed having a total of four overlapping sections. The retaining members engage one of the overlapping portions of the frame but slidably receives the other. No retaining ends are formed at the distal end of the slidably engaged L-shaped members to serve as a sliding boundary. Instead, the dimensions of the filter bag are such that the filter bag serves to define the maximum dimension of the frame and thereby maintain the overlapping L-shaped rigid members in slidable engagement with each other. A circular embodiment is also disclosed.
FLOW SPLITTER AND RAIN SEPARATOR COMPRISING THE SAME
A flow splitter including a first plate being immobile and a second plate being turnable with respect to the first plate. The first plate includes a central part, and the central part includes a slot and two side parts disposed at two ends of the slot, respectively. The second plate includes a first subplate and a second subplate, and the first subplate includes one end provided with a flange. The second plate is coupled to the first plate. The first subplate and the second subplate are disposed at two side of the slot; two sides of the second plate include two gaps. respectively. The two side parts of the first plate are disposed in the two yaps, respectively.
Water inlet protection system
A water inlet protection system and apparatus for removing sediment and/or chemical from water or other fluids is provided. The system may include a filtration material that is configured to be water permeable and to collect sediment within the water. The system may be configured to be removably secured to various types of storm drains or water inlets. The system may include a frame configured to be removably attached to a storm grate. The frame may also include a plurality of tabs extending from the frame and be slidably adjustable. The system may also include an s-clip member or magnets for removably securing the filtration material to a storm drain or water inlet. Furthermore, the water inlet protection system may include one or more over-flow protection openings. The over-flow protection openings may include a raised member or barrier to regulate the water level where over-flow occurs.
Catch basin trap with flexible outlet pipe connector
A catch basin trap for mounting in an opening in a side wall of a catch basin. A preferred catch basin trap has a body with a front side for facing outwardly to outside of the catch basin, and a back side for facing inwardly to inside of the catch basin. An inlet opening is provided in the back side of the body for receiving drainage water from inside of the catch basin. An outlet opening is provided in the front side of the body for discharging the drainage water to the outside of the catch basin. A flexible outlet pipe connector extends outwardly from the outlet opening, configured for watertight coupling to an outlet pipe positioned outside of the catch basin. The catch basin trap provides a water flow path for drainage water from inside of the catch basin to the outlet pipe. A preferred outlet pipe connector is adapted to facilitate installation of the catch basin trap by allowing watertight coupling to the outlet pipe at a plurality of angles and positions relative to the catch basin trap, and to accommodate angular and transpositional deviations of the outlet pipe resulting from settling of the ground after installation.
Storm drain grate and filter apparatus and method
A storm water capture and filtration system may secure in a catch basin or other area subject to flows of water from streets, channels, and the like as a result of run off from storms. A filter system may include a capture portion including attachment mechanisms, a funnel, various supports, and a filter hanger designed and calculated to capture all water entering a storm water inlet and directing it toward a bag filter. A gap is provided between a funnel and filter hanger in order to provide accommodation for overflow, while an anti-backflow skirt on the filter bag resists flushing of captured pollution out of the bag in overflow condition.
