3D WOVEN STRUCTURES AND METHODS OF MAKING AND USING SAME
Structures, space frames, lattice materials and articles of a great variety of shapes including interconnected struts and methods to make and use same. The structures have no nodes and are made from struts including plates that are interconnected in a 3D woven pattern. The advantages are lower cost, improved performance, and simpler manufacture of parts and assembly relative to traditional frames and articles. In an embodiment, the method of assembling parts is a 3D weaving algorithm/methodology. The 3D woven structures can be used in a great variety of different ways.
Node for a space frame
A space frame includes a plurality of support structures and a node member configured to couple with the plurality of support structures. The node member includes a base portion, a plurality of coupling members extending from the base portion, each of the plurality of coupling members configured to couple with each of the support structures, and a plurality of clamping members configured to couple each of the plurality of coupling members with each of the plurality of support structures.
BATTEN BAR ASSEMBLY
A batten bar is configured to secure first and second adjacent flat panels to a structural framework. The batten bar includes first and second inside legs, first and second outside legs, and a plurality of apertures disposed along the length of the batten bar. The first and second inside legs define a central channel. The first outside leg and the first inside leg define a first seal recess configured to receive and retain a first seal. The second outside leg and the second inside leg define a second seal recess configured to receive and retain a second seal. In an installed configuration, the first inside leg and the first outside leg are configured to contact the first flat panel along a first common plane, and the second inside leg and second outside leg contact the second panel along a second common plane.
Connection between lattice tower and nacelle
An apparatus for connecting a lattice tower to the nacelle of a wind turbine. The apparatus has high flexural rigidity and enables direct transition between the nacelle and members of the lattice tower. The apparatus includes two rings joined together with vertical plates extending between them. Upper and lower faces of the apparatus are formed by upper and lower horizontal plates. Central ribs are coupled together and with the vertical plates through a plurality of attachment pieces. The central ribs in part form a large central polygonal hole for accommodating an electrical generator.
Overhead irrigation assembly having three or more truss rods
An overhead irrigation assembly having multiple truss rods is disclosed. In an implementation, an overhead irrigation assembly includes a first support, a second support, and a span of pipeline supported between the first support and the second support. The overhead irrigation assembly also includes a first truss rod tensioned between the first support and the second support and a second truss rod tensioned between the first support and the second support. Spreaders are suspended from the span of pipeline that are configured to separate the first truss rod from the second truss rod. The overhead irrigation assembly also includes a third truss rod is also tensioned between the first support and the second support. The first truss rod, the second truss rod, and third truss rod are configured to maintain a generally bow shape in the span of pipeline.
