The frame includes top, side and a bottom frame member (24, 26a, 26b, 28). The frame is sized and shaped to fit within an opening (P) in a sidewall (S) of a portable building (B). A foam panel (16) fits in the frame. Door panels (12, 14) are affixed to the outsides of the foam panel using an adhesive material. The result is a laminated door that can be lowered and raised for moving people and objects into and out of the building.

The walls are each adjustable from an initial flat folded state to a use state where an obtuse angle is internally subtended. In the use state, first, second, third, and fourth corner openings are defined between adjacent pairs of end walls and side walls. The corner panels are mountable in the first, second, third, and fourth corner openings to brace the foldable shelter pod in an erected state.

A third member has a triangular shape that functions as a roof truss with opposing sloped surfaces and an underside. A pair of truss notches is formed at positions corresponding to the notches of the first member, for each engaging with one of the plurality of separate members. The third member also includes feature hooks, formed on the sloped surfaces, for engaging with a fourth member defined by a planar roofing material having a plurality of holes.

The covering and the base are each complementary in shape compared to the expandable frame. The covering is a rigid structure that partially encloses the expandable frame. The base is a hollow and rigid frame.
