ACTUATED FOLDABLE BUILDING SYSTEM MODULE
A foldable building system module (FBSM) comprising an integrated deployable modular building system. The foldable building system module comprises prefabricated panels connected by hinges which allow the panels to be unfolded from a flat pack geometry to an unfolded, erected or deployed geometry. An actuating mechanism can be integrated in one or more of the panels and, by applying load to one or more of the panels, allow for automated erection of the module. Two or more of the FBSM's can be connected in series to provide a building system.
FOLDING SHED
A folding shed may include a roof portion, a lateral portion and a bottom portion, said lateral portions forming two lateral sides of the shed that connects the roof portion and the bottom portion. Each roof portion, lateral portion and bottom portion includes a plurality of connecting units and hinge units, and each hinge unit is configured to pivotally connect with a longitudinal side of one connecting unit and pivotally connect with the other longitudinal side of an adjacent connecting unit. At least one hinge unit is configured to pivotally connect a corresponding connecting unit in the roof portion and a corresponding connecting unit in the lateral portion, and at least another hinge unit is configured to pivotally connect a corresponding connecting unit in the lateral portion and a corresponding connecting unit in the bottom portion.
RAPID SET SHELTER
A device comprising: a first sidewall connected to a bottom wall via a first hinge and connected to a top wall via a second hinge, wherein a third hinge is disposed in the first sidewall about parallel to both the first hinge and the second hinge; a second sidewall connected to the bottom wall via a fourth hinge and connected to the top wall via a fifth hinge, wherein a sixth hinge is disposed in the second sidewall about parallel to both the fourth hinge and the fifth hinge, wherein the second sidewall is opposite the first sidewall, and wherein the third hinge of the first sidewall and the sixth hinge of the second sidewall have about a co-equal height along the side first and second sidewalls, relative to the bottom wall; a third sidewall connected to the bottom wall via a seventh hinge; and a fourth sidewall connected to the bottom wall via an eight hinge, wherein the fourth sidewall is configured to fold onto the bottom wall, and wherein the third sidewall is configured to fold onto the fourth sidewall in a collapsed position of the device.
PROTECTIVE BARRIER FOR USE IN PHYSICAL EXAMINATIONS, DIAGNOSTICS AND TREATMENTS AND RECREATION
A barrier for use in one or more of physical examinations, diagnostics, treatments and recreation includes one or more panels. At least one of the panels includes a window through which at least one of a physical examinations, diagnostic procedure and treatment may be performed. The barrier includes at least one structural feature that is configured to reversibly collapse the barrier into a compact configuration while not in use or for transporting the barrier.
MODULAR CLEARSPAN BUILDING, AND MODULAR BUILDING SECTIONS AND CONSTRUCTION METHODS THEREFOR
A modular building section defining the roof and opposing walls of a modular clearspan building. The building section includes a roof portion extending in a longitudinal direction between opposite first and second ends, and a pair of first and second legs, each leg pivotally attached about a pivot axis to the roof portion proximate a roof portion end. Each of the first and second legs has a stowed position in which the leg generally extends in the longitudinal direction and is in superposition with the roof portion, and an expanded position in which the leg depends from the roof portion and generally extends perpendicularly to the longitudinal direction. The legs are moveable independently of each other from their respective stowed positions to their respective expanded positions under the influence of gravity during lifting of the roof portion. Also disclosed are methods for constructing a modular clearspan building.
Shipping Container Expansion Insert
An expansion insert for converting an ISO shipping container into a housing unit is provided, the insert having a compacted form reversibly convertible to a expanded form. The insert has a frame assembly torsionally hinged to a roof assembly and a floor assembly. Two pivot walls and a sidewall are also built into the insert. The insert may be compacted for shipping, expanded after insertion into an ISO container, and compacted again on the ISO container.
MODULAR COMPACTABLE PREFABRICATED STRUCTURE
A modular compactable prefabricated structure has front and back folding modules. The front module has a quadrangular bottom with front, intermediate, right-hand and left-hand sides. A folding front wall is hinged to the front side of the bottom of the front module. The back module has a quadrangular bottom with back, intermediate, right-hand, and left-hand sides. A folding back wall is hinged to the back side of the bottom of the back module. The intermediate side of the bottom of the front module is suitable for going in contact with the intermediate side of the bottom of the back module and no wall is connected in the intermediate sides of the front module and of the back module in such a way that the prefabricated structure has a continuous space between the front wall and the back wall.
EXPANDABLE SAFE ROOM
An expandable safe room (ESR) defining a protected space therein is provided and comprises a main upright frame, a pair of side walls hingedly connected to the main upright frame, and a front wall parallel to the main upright frame and hingedly connected to the side walls, wherein deploying the ESR in an expanding direction moves the front wall in a forward direction and away from the main upright frame. Floor and roof are also provided wherein the deployment of the ESR can be automatically or manually.
Collapsible Shelter
A shelter or camper that provides improved portability and protection. The shelter or camper may include rigid walls to offer greater protection from weather, animals, and theft. The shelter or camper may be transitionable between different configurations for different purposes, including an open and expanded configuration for use as a shelter, camper, or sleeping quarters and a compact, closed case configuration for easy storage and transport. To facilitate this, the walls may be foldable, expandable, or collapsible. When the walls are folded or collapsed, roof and floor sections may be connected to each other and may enclose the folded, collapsed walls and internal components within the collapsed closed case.
SOLAR PANEL TRUSS DEPLOYABLE FROM MOVING CARRIER
A novel system and related methods for sequentially deploying, in automated or semi-automated fashion, a strip of a plurality of truss bays with integral solar panels from a moving carrier onto a surface being traversed, resulting in a long, contiguous truss structure laid upon on the surface. The solar panels are angled at a predetermined orientation for solar operation at the deployment location. The carrier is easily and quickly reloaded with another set of truss bays for repeated deployment of a series of strips of solar truss structures in a solar array. The solar array thus is constructed in substantially less time and with substantially less labor that conventional support racking in the filed using prior art piece-wise assembly operations.
