AUTONOMOUS UVC DISINFECTION ROBOT FOR MASS TRANSPORTATION

The invention is an air and surface disinfection robot designed to autonomously move through incredibly narrow spaces, specific to mass transportation vehicles such as aircraft, trains, busses, or ferries. The robot includes modes to operate in the spaces associated with transportation, such as waiting areas, bathrooms and narrow entry and exit ways.

In the transportation industry, turn around time (the time between two planned trips), is often incredibly short. Existing designs do not allow for a fast enough loading, setup and run time. This invention has been designed to optimize the portability, maneuverability, connectivity (data) and ease of use from other devices designed to disinfect such vehicles.

The invention uses UVC (germicidal) lamps, a proven technology for disinfecting pathogens. The design has been optimized by using a unique open cage design, so the light will transmit from all directions with minimal absorption to components on the device. This in combination with the lamp pattern and the robotics results in a very precise UVC light emission required for adequate, consistent disinfection of the surfaces and the air of mass transportation vehicles.

Finally, the invention consists of real time data streaming and remote operation as data is published through a connected cloud service and then onto the subscribed users.

PORTABLE UV-C DISINFECTION APPARATUS, METHOD, AND SYSTEM
20230012592 · 2023-01-19 ·

A portable UV-C disinfection apparatus, method, and system for ultraviolet germicidal irradiation. UV-C emitters may be coupled to an array housing having a planar array surface in a vertical configuration. UV-C sensors are configured to measure the amount of UV-C light or near UV-C light from a target surface. A controller may be communicably engaged with the UV-C sensors to determine the amount of UV-C radiation collected by the UV-C sensors. The controller includes instructions stored on a memory according to the amount of UV-C radiation collected corresponding to an effective kill-dose for surface disinfection. The improved apparatus, method, and system reduces exposure time by varying the intensity and wavelength of the UV-C administered, while concurrently reducing UV overexposure to surfaces by administering radiation through a rotational zonal application.

Apparatus for Generation of Air-Borne Spray to Remove Malodor and Contamination
20230219534 · 2023-07-13 ·

There is provided a system and method of cleaning surfaces of an enclosable environment of a contamination comprising a microbial and viral load. The method includes the steps of sealing the enclosable environment and placing water, and a solid or gel pack, into a container and generating a vortex the container by rotating an impeller. The agitation causes the solid or gel pack to release a gaseous cleaning agent. An air-borne spray exiting from the container spreads throughout the enclosable environment to contact the surfaces to be cleaned within the enclosable environment. The enclosable environment is maintained closed for an effective time period while the air-borne spray dwells on the surfaces to eliminate or substantially reduce the load of the contamination.

LAMP AND SYSTEM WITH WALL-TYPE RADIATION FIELDS FOR PREVENTING OR MINIMISING THE SPREAD OF PATHOGENS IN INDOOR AIR
20230218791 · 2023-07-13 ·

The invention is directed to a system for preventing or minimizing the spread of viruses, and to the prevention or minimization of the spread of viruses in indoor air, including one or more radiation sources (10) in a room which divide the room into smaller segments using UV-C light walls, a sensor system for detecting a movement or a presence of one or more persons (P) in the room, and a controller (16) that is designed to at least partially switch the one or more radiation sources (10) on or off as a function of at least the presence of the person (P).

According to the invention, the one or more radiation sources (10) are designed to generate a wall-type radiation field (10b) that acts as a UV-C wall, so that the room or rooms is/are divided into smaller room segments, which prevents or minimizes the spread of viruses due to the fact that the viruses are deactivated by the UV-C light, and the controller (16) is designed to at least partially switch off the radiation source (10) in question if the movement data detected by the sensor system indicate a likelihood that one of the persons (P) would like to pass through the radiation field (10b) in question.

PROCESS AND SYSTEM TO LESSEN HUMAN CORONAVIRUS TRANSMISSION AND SPREAD
20230218794 · 2023-07-13 ·

Processes and systems for lessening human spread of coronaviruses can include use of a disinfectants and/or rinses that utilize contact times of up to 2 minutes or less than 2 minutes and also more than 20 seconds. Some embodiments can include gargling a rinse having at least one disinfectant as an active ingredient for up to 2 minutes or for a time period of less than 2 minutes. Other embodiments can include performing a naso-rinse for up to 2 minutes or a time period of less than 2 minutes and also more than 20 seconds with rinse fluid having at least one disinfectant.

SURFACE DISINFECTION AND VISIBLE LIGHT SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR USING SAME

Surface disinfection for enclosures with Ultra-Violet (UV) light and illuminating such enclosures with visible light. Particular embodiments relate to limiting the transmission of viruses and bacteria in the interior space of an aircraft, such as a lavatory, through the use of UV light application, while providing visible light to passengers of such lavatory, both in a safe and compliant manner. This disclosure provides a lighting system and method that combines a visible light emitter and a UV light emitter into a single light system module. Although UV light is a preferred method of neutralizing pathogens, its use is not safe for human exposure. Accordingly, the disclosed lighting system is capable of detecting the presence of an occupant within an enclosure or defined space and only allows the visible light emitter to function (and prevents the UV light emitter from functioning) while people or animals are present within the electromagnetic range for the lighting system. The lighting system can then detect the absence of an occupant within an enclosure or defined space, prior to activating the UV light emitter, and once absence is detected, the UV light emitter can be activated by a controller.
