Hanger for precast cladding panels, and precast panel incorporating same
An elongate hanger for precast cladding panels includes an anchorage band embeddable in an upper region of a precast panel; an abutment band contiguous with the anchorage band and providing an abutment surface for the lower edge of an upper panel in a panel assembly mounted to a support wall; a ventilation band contiguous with and extending horizontally from the abutment band, and having one or more ventilation openings; and a mounting band contiguous with and extending upward from the ventilation band in a tilted off-vertical plane when the panel is mounted to a support wall by fasteners extending through a lower region of the mounting band. The hanger vertically supports the cladding panel at a distance from the support wall corresponding to an air space defined by the selected hanger geometry, with the ventilation openings facilitating the flow of water or water vapor out of the air space.
BUNKER SYSTEM FOR RADIATION THERAPY EQUIPMENT
A bunker system for shielding radiation emitted from a radiation treatment device includes a multi-core wall structure that completely surrounds the radiation treatment device. The wall structure includes a cast-in-place concrete inner core of limited thickness in order to minimize curing time requirements. The inner core is immediately surrounded by an outer core constructed from a plurality of preformed modular blocks. Each modular block is constructed of a radiation shielding material, such as concrete. As part of the assembly process, the preformed modular blocks are designed to be stacked top-to-bottom and side-by-side in an interlocking fashion to form a continuous wall structure, with blocks additionally arranged in a front-to-back relationship to achieve the required outer core thickness. The dual-core construction of the wall structure enables the bunker system to be quickly and efficiently assembled with enhanced quality control and potential reusability.
LIQUID DELIVERY AND BUILDING COMPONENT SYSTEM
A system for the provision of container blocks of fluid to locations in need of said fluid in which system the containers also function as structural elements. The system further comprises structural elements that complement the fluid container blocks, including base tracks, roof rafters, roof material, door and window flap materials. Connecting clips and anchoring spikes function to secure the fluid blocks together and to the ground to form a solid structure. The system provides the means to deliver an emergency supply of water or other fluid to a disaster area or underdeveloped location along with the means to erect temporary structures for shelter using the container blocks as the basic structural element.
Free-standing wall arrangement and methods
A free-standing wall includes concrete base blocks adjacent to each other forming a base course; a first set of concrete wall blocks stacked on the base course and on each other to form a first wall face; and a second set of concrete wall blocks stacked on the base course and on each other to form a second wall face that faces the opposite direction from the first wall face and that has the same number of courses as the first plurality of wall blocks. Methods of constructing the wall arrangement include laying the base blocks next to each other end to end; stacking individual blocks of a first set of blocks on the base course and then on each other to form a first wall face; stacking individual blocks of the second set of blocks on the base course and then on each other to form a second wall face that faces a direction opposite of the first wall face.
The hanger vertically supports the cladding panel at a distance from the support wall corresponding to an air space defined by the selected hanger geometry, with the ventilation openings facilitating the flow of water or water vapour out of the air space.
CONCRETE WASHOUT APPARATUS
A portable, reusable concrete washout is provided. In a preferred embodiment, the washout is constructed from a series of blocks that can be removably interlocked together and can be easily transported so that the washout may be assembled and disassembled onsite. A plastic sheet or other containment member can be laid over and secured to the washout to hold and contain the mixture of water and concrete as it is washed from the equipment. The blocks are preferably poly-cuboidal in shape and design, whereby the blocks can be stacked and overlap with one another. The blocks further include at least one type of interlocking mechanism for the removable interlocking and attachment of one block to another.
Post for a folding door
A locking post for a closure, the post having front and rear walls joined at their sides by two side walls to form a tubular post having a generally quadratic cross-sectional shape. Each side wall has a groove therein, the groove parallel to the longitudinal axis of the post, and wide enough and deep enough to at least partly receive a locking element carried by the post. The sides of the groove also provide handles which can be gripped to move a closure the post is mounted on.
ROBOTIC BLOCK LAYING MACHINE IMPROVEMENTS
The present disclosure provides a vehicle which incorporates a robotic block laying machine for use in constructing a block structure, the vehicle including: (a) a vehicle chassis: (b) a base frame mounted to the chassis; and, (c) a robotic block laying machine mounted from the base frame, the machine including: (i) one or more loading bays for receiving pallets of blocks stacked with one or more courses of blocks wherein each course comprises a plurality of rows of blocks; (ii) at least one robotic arm configured to pick any individual block directly from a course of the pallet; and, (iii) a block conveying system that receives blocks from the at least one robotic arm and transports them to a laying head of the machine that lays the blocks in order to create the block structure.
