Support wall frame system and associated use thereof
10480185 · 2019-11-19 ·

A support wall frame system includes an end track, and a metal frame member received within the end track. The metal frame member includes a plurality of ribs and a plurality of stiffeners spaced therefrom, respectively. The plurality of ribs are statically affixed to the end track, and the plurality of stiffeners are abutted against the end track. An inwardly directed V-shaped stiffener is located along base while each side wall has an inwardly directed rib. Each end of the stud is received within the end track such that the end track has a base with upwardly directed side walls, these side walls each having an inwardly directed detent. The stud is friction held between the end track's side walls and each detent is received within a respective one of the ribs to lock the stud. Fasteners pass through each -detent-rib pair.

A modular stiff wall panel assembly for a building structure includes a modular wall panel having a central portion has central ribs spaced therealong, a first wall track engaged with the central portion and having first ribs spaced therealong, and a second wall track engaged with the central portion and having second ribs spaced therealong wherein the second wall track is oppositely spaced from the first wall track, and a plurality of studs engaged with the central portion, the first wall track, and the second wall track. The central ribs, the first ribs, and the second ribs are linearly aligned, respectively, and registered parallel to a longitudinal axis of the studs, respectively. The central ribs, the first ribs, and the second ribs are coplanar on a single plane and disposed at an end-to-end pattern along an entire longitudinal length of the wall panel.

FIRE-RATED WALL AND CEILING SYSTEM

The present application is directed toward fire-rated wall construction components and wall systems for use in building construction. Embodiments can include tracks for holding studs which incorporate various geometries capable of receiving fire-retardant material, flat straps for use between tracks and fluted wall components, fire sponges for use in fluted wall components, and tracks with protruding grooves or other structures which prevent unwanted air movement between a wallboard component and the track.

STUDS WITH TRIANGULAR LONGITUDINAL CHANNELS

A one-piece stud has a central longitudinal side; a first longitudinal side joined at a 90? angle to the first end of the central longitudinal side; and a second longitudinal side joined at a 90? angle to the second end of the central longitudinal side. The central side has a first and a second planar surface joined by an acute isosceles triangular channel midway between. The first longitudinal side is formed of a third and a fourth planar surface joined by an acute isosceles triangular channel midway between. The second longitudinal side has a fifth and a sixth planar surface joined by an acute isosceles triangular channel midway between. At an end opposite the 90? joint, the first longitudinal side and the second longitudinal side have free ends each forming a gapped right isosceles triangle. The longitudinal channels increase the axial capacity and the moment capacity of the stud.

STRUCTURAL STUD

A panel includes structural studs, each of the structural studs includes a central longitudinal axis, a baseplate, and a sidewall extending from the baseplate, and tabs punched out of the sidewall, each of the tabs including a tab leg that is connected to the sidewall at one end of the tab leg, and that projects outwardly from the sidewall, and a tab foot extending from the tab leg and curving in a direction that is toward a plane extending perpendicular to the central longitudinal axis through the one end of the tab leg, and away from a hole in the sidewall created by the tab being punched out of the sidewall, wherein the hole is defined by a base side and a top side, the base side has a greater length than the top side, and the tab leg the extends from the base side.
