Luminaire with biofilter
Disclosed are examples of luminaires that provide light for general illumination and treat air via a biofilter. In the examples, a luminaire may include a light source configured to illuminate a space, a biofilter configured to treat air, and an air circulation system. The light source may be configured to illuminate a space in which the luminaire is located with general illumination light. The biofilter may include an air permeable membrane, a substrate, and a microorganism that treats air that comes in contact with the microorganism. The air circulation system is configured to draw air into contact with the biofilter and output air treated by contact with the biofilter into at least a portion of the space illuminated by the light source.
Air-filtering anti-bacterial lighting apparatus
An anti-bacterial lighting apparatus includes one translucent housing, at least one light source, and an air circulation mechanism. The translucent housing is air permeable, has as least one air inflow port, and has an anti-bacterial photocatalytic film on its inside surface. The at least one light source is inside the housing, and its light activates the anti-bacterial photocatalytic film on the housing. The air circulation mechanism, such as a fan, is at the air inflow port of the housing. It sucks the ambient air from outside the housing and forces the air through the air-permeable housing. The air-permeable housing traps airborne bacteria and viruses, and the activated anti-bacterial photocatalytic film kills the trapped bacteria and viruses. Moreover, the light shines through the translucent housing while the apparatus is filtering the air and killing the airborne bacteria and viruses.
GAS TREATMENT SYSTEM AND METHOD
Disclosed is a process for treating a stale gas, involving the following steps: circulation of the stale gas in a gas/liquid contactor, called a contactor, and then circulation of the stale gas in a filter unit, called a filter unit, the process involving, in the contactor, placing a circulating liquid in contact with the stale gas, the circulating liquid having a temperature of between 2 and 15 C., preferably between 5 and 10 C., and also to a treatment unit for performing the process including a gas/liquid contactor and a filter unit.
PHOTOCATALYST FILTER AND AIR CONDITIONER INCLUDING THE SAME
A photocatalyst filter is provided. The photocatalyst filter includes: a base in which an internal space is formed. The internal space is permeable to fluid, and a plurality of photocatalyst beads are provided in the internal space, wherein a surface of the internal space is reflective.
Air treatment article
An air treatment article is provided, comprising: a semipermeable barrier and a plurality of multi-staged non-film forming polymer abatement particles having a core polymer and at least one shell polymer; wherein the core polymer accounts for 1 to 25 wt % of the weight of the non-film forming polymer abatement particles; wherein the semipermeable barrier is disposed between an air atmosphere and the non-film forming polymer abatement particles; wherein the semipermeable barrier impedes passage therethrough by the non-film forming polymer abatement particles; wherein the semipermeable barrier permits passage therethrough by a for-treatment air containing a contaminant such that the for-treatment air can make contact with the non-film forming polymer abatement particles; wherein the non-film forming polymer abatement particles have an affinity for the contaminant.
Activated Carbon Sheet for Air Purification
The present invention relates to an activated carbon sheet, and particularly relates to an activated carbon sheet for air purification comprising activated carbon, which is suitable for removing volatile organic compounds in the passenger compartment of an automobile or the like. An object of the present invention is to provide a sheet that is excellent in toluene adsorption capacity and flame retardancy. An activated carbon sheet for air purification comprising an activated carbon fiber, granular or powdered activated carbon, and a fibrillated fiber, wherein a mass (g/m.sup.2) of the activated carbon fiber is 5 g/m.sup.2 or more, a pressure loss as measured by a method set forth below is 150 Pa or less, and a burn distance as measured by the FMVSS 302 burning test is 51 mm or less: <pressure loss test method> the method is conducted in accordance with JIS B 9927:1999 Appendix (Standard) CleanroomAir filtersTest methods, 3.2 Pressure Loss Test as follows: a piece of the activated carbon sheet cut in the form of a circle with a diameter of 110 mm is used as a measurement sample; air is sucked though the measurement sample at a linear velocity of 0.1 m/s, and a difference in static pressure between an upstream side and a downstream side of the activated carbon sheet is measured with a differential pressure gauge; and figures up to the one's place of the measured value are used as significant figures.
Methods and Systems for Producing Biochar
In various embodiments, a method may comprise disposing biomass into a processing chamber; regulating at least one of a temperature and a pressure in the processing chamber; and/or processing the biomass to create biochar. The biomass may comprise cellulose acetate.
Aromatic pacifier assembly
An aromatic pacifier assembly for an infant gives off a predetermined scent by evaporation of volatile essential oils or similar substances. The aroma may be, for example, mint, menthol or eucalyptus, which may help relieve nasal congestion. The aromatic pacifier assembly is constructed to prevent evaporation of the essential oil before activation, so that the nipple does not become contaminated with a flavor the infant may find unpalatable, and so that the oil is conserved until it is desired to administer it to the infant.
AIR FILTERS
The present invention provides an air filter comprising a polymer foam and an adsorbent material wherein said polymer foam comprises metal particles.
