Method of fabricating a 3-dimensional structure, mesh formwork element for fabricating a 3-dimensional structure and method of fabricating the same

Method of fabricating a 3-dimensional structure, mesh formwork element for fabricating a 3-dimensional structure, and method of fabricating the same. The method of fabricating a 3-dimensional structure comprises providing a mesh formwork element such that a cavity bound by at least two opposing portions of the mesh formwork is formed; accumulating a material in the cavity; and allowing the material to harden; wherein apertures in the at least two opposing portions of the mesh formwork element are adapted to the hydro-static pressure of the accumulated material or vice versa such that at least two surfaces of the hardened material substantially take on the respective shapes defined by the two opposing portions of the mesh formwork element.

A load bearing structure including a first fixed net layer, a second fixed net layer and a non-linear structure in between. The first fixed net layer may include a first layer of flexible, drapable fabric and a fixing material that fixes the shape of the first layer of flexible, drapable fabric. The second fixed net layer may include a second layer of flexible, drapable fabric and a fixing material that fixes the shape of the second layer of flexible, drapable fabric. The non-linear reinforcing structure may be in communication with the first and second fixed net layers and may be configured to share with the first and second fixed net layers a load applied to the load bearing structure.

Building system

A building system and method of using the same may include a wall assembly including a plurality of expanded metal mesh sheets disposed on either side of at least one welded wire mesh sheet. The wall assembly may be disposed in a keyway defined by a foundation assembly including a plurality of form boards. The foundation assembly may be constructed and arranged for framing out a slab, wall, or structure. The building system may further include a framing assembly including a plurality of vertical supports spaced away from one another and being constructed and arranged to connect to a support header and plurality of spans such that a structure or wall may be formed within the framing assembly. Material, such as concrete, maybe poured between the plurality of expanded metal mesh sheets to form a slab, wall, or structure.

STRUCTURAL STUD

A panel includes structural studs, each of the structural studs includes a central longitudinal axis, a baseplate, and a sidewall extending from the baseplate, and tabs punched out of the sidewall, each of the tabs including a tab leg that is connected to the sidewall at one end of the tab leg, and that projects outwardly from the sidewall, and a tab foot extending from the tab leg and curving in a direction that is toward a plane extending perpendicular to the central longitudinal axis through the one end of the tab leg, and away from a hole in the sidewall created by the tab being punched out of the sidewall, wherein the hole is defined by a base side and a top side, the base side has a greater length than the top side, and the tab leg the extends from the base side.

An improved lath is disclosed having a water drainage layer provided in association with the lath. The water drainage layer serves to remove water that might otherwise build up between the lath and wall structure.

Concrete wall with decorative surface and method of forming same

A concrete wall has a back surface supported by a back panel while a decorative material is applied to an opposing front surface of the wall by hand or by pneumatic projection while the surface is still plastic, and without using bonding agents. The decorative material may be further exposed by a surface treatment before or after the front surface is floated and finished, with a sealant optionally applied thereafter. The front surface may be created by pneumatic methods or by pouring concrete into forms and removing the front panel to expose the front surface while it is still plastic but hydrated enough not to slump.

Lightweight structural panel

A structural panel for building construction includes a series of truss members, and accompanying sinusoidal support elements in welded communication and enclosed in a planarly extended foam layer. Together, the structural panel allows for easy and efficient off-site assembly, which creates a lightweight panel with an increased weight-bearing capacity using inexpensive and versatile materials.
