Modular assemblies and methods of construction thereof
A modular assembly for forming a shear wall includes a modular frame having a first side, and formwork. The formwork has a reinforcing bar cage and a first wall each coupled to the first side of the modular frame. The first wall is disposed between the reinforcing bar cage and the first side of the modular frame.
Building component
A building formwork component comprising first and second spaced sidewalls having one or more webs extending there-between, each sidewall comprising a flange extending inwardly along a first edge of the sidewall such that an outer surface of the flange forms a ramp surface; and a groove extending along an opposing second edge of the sidewall; wherein the component may be coupled to a like component by relative movement of the components towards each other, whereby the flanges are received in respective grooves of the like component, and whereby the ramp surfaces facilitate such coupling by engaging respective second edges of the like component to move the second edges and/or ramp surfaces for engagement of the flanges in the grooves.
IMPROVED BUILDING PANEL
A panel (6) is disclosed for use in construction. The panel (6) comprises opposing surfaces (6A, 6B) that extend between first and second opposite ends (7A, 7B). The panel (6) also comprises a plurality of parallel (e.g. sawtooth) ridges (7). The ridges (7) are provided on at least one of the opposing surfaces (6A and/or 6B). The ridges (7) extend along and adjacent to a first of the opposite ends (7A or 7B) of the panel for at least a part length thereof. The ridges (7) are arranged to engage with and move past corresponding ridges of an adjacent panel (6) when the panels move relative to each other in opposite directions. The ridges (7) are further arranged so as to interfere with the ridges of the adjacent panel to resist relative movement in a reverse of the opposite direction.
PLANAR AND CORNER INSULATED CONCRETE FORMS, MONOLITHIC FORM SKELETON FRAME MODULES, AND RELATED METHODS OF USE AND MANUFACTURING
Integrally molded insulated concrete form skeleton modules are discussed, along with various other insulated concrete form skeletons and related methods and technologies. Insulated concrete corner forms are discussed, and ways to make same are also discussed. One or both folding and cutting steps may be used to create a corner form from a planar form, or from two independent concrete forms.
ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING OF CONCRETE CONSTRUCTION ELEMENTS
A method for obtaining a concrete construction element by additive manufacturing, in which superposed mortar layers are successively deposited so as to form two wall surfaces, opposite one another, so as to form a cavity, as well as a plurality of reinforcement elements each extending from one of the wall surfaces toward the cavity, each reinforcement element being in contact with neither the wall surface opposite to that from which it extends, nor with a reinforcement element extending from the opposite wall surface to that from which it extends.
Formwork system
The present invention provides a system 10 for construction of formwork where a settable compound is pourable into a cavity in the formwork and retained by the formwork to set to form a completed structure. The formwork comprises structural panels 12, 14 connected by adjustable connectors 34 for varying the spacing between the panels.
Tornado proof housing
A tornado resistant/proof residential housing unit that is built to withstand natural disaster conditions resulting from tornadoes, violent storms, and fire. An internal concrete reinforced core layout gives the unit its structural strength, as well as the versatility needed to face natural disaster conditions while providing absolute resistance to heavy winds such as those caused by a tornado. The unit has an external facade which mimics the exterior appearance of a typical subdivision home.
Building system
A system for the construction of modular structures includes sheet metal panels that include at least some pre-cut portions configured to be deformed in such as way as to provide a gripping and reinforcing function for a cementitious material when poured around the structure constructed of the sheet metal panels. Window and door openings are typically precut prior to shipping to a construction site and then punched out of a sheet metal panel at a construction site. The invention provides for an extremely compact method of shipping load bearing components to the construction site and reduced labor time in assembling a building framework.
Concrete wall with decorative surface and method of forming same
A concrete wall has a back surface supported by a back panel while a decorative material is applied to an opposing front surface of the wall by hand or by pneumatic projection while the surface is still plastic, and without using bonding agents. The decorative material may be further exposed by a surface treatment before or after the front surface is floated and finished, with a sealant optionally applied thereafter. The front surface may be created by pneumatic methods or by pouring concrete into forms and removing the front panel to expose the front surface while it is still plastic but hydrated enough not to slump.
CONCRETE FORM BRACKET FOR USE IN CASTING A FOUNDATION WALL INTEGRAL WITH A FLOOR
A concrete form bracket for a concrete form having an outer form wall and an inner form wall for defining an outer surface and an inner surface of a perimeter foundation wall. The bracket is a rigid, metal, frame member, having a first upright leg portion joined to the outer form wall, a second upright leg portion joined to the inner form wall, and a bridge portion connected between the first and second upright leg portions. The bracket has fastener apertures for fastening the first and second leg portions to wood material of the respective outer and inner form walls in a manner that allows the inner form wall to be suspended from the brackets which are in turn supported on the outer form wall such that the inner form wall is entirely supported on the outer form wall.
