Metal Coated Substrates for Filters

An anti-microbial metal coating may be applied to filter membranes for use in actively depressing microbial viability in filtration applications. The anti-microbial metal coating may be applied to substrates that are considered to be sensitive to damage by conventional metal coating techniques or resistant to metal bonding. The coating may be applied from a salt absorbed to the substrate in solution, converted to a reducible form with a conversion agent, and reduced to active metal format through a low temperature plasma treatment.

Connective tissues, such as bone, dentin or pulp, regenerative material comprising calcium silicate

A regenerative material in the connective tissues (such as bone, dentin or pulp) regeneration field. More precisely, a connective tissue regenerative material, preferably a bone, dentin or pulp regenerative material, including: a porous polymer matrix having interconnected pores; and non-hydrated calcium silicate particles; wherein: the polymer matrix is anhydrous; the non-hydrated calcium silicate particles have a d.sub.50granulometry, preferably ranging from 0.05 μm to less than the average diameter size of the pores of the matrix; and the non-hydrated calcium silicate particles being coated on the inside walls of the pores of the matrix. Also, a method for preparing the connective tissue regenerative material and uses of the regenerative materials, such as in the dental field; especially, for providing regenerative materials with improved biomechanical and osteoinductive properties (i.e. good migration, adhesion and proliferation of cells; enhanced mechanical properties; and optimal and controlled biodegradability).

WOUND DRESSING MATERIALS AND METHODS OF MAKING THEREOF
20230277382 · 2023-09-07 ·

Disclosed is a wound dressing material comprising a substrate, about 2.5% to about 8% by weight of a bicarbonate, and a film-forming agent, the film-forming agent serving as a binder for said bicarbonate to said substrate, the film-forming agent and the bicarbonate being present in a ratio of between 1:2 and 2:1 with respect to one another. Also disclosed are a method for preparing a wound dressing material and a method for treating a wound.

DRY DRESSING
20230277722 · 2023-09-07 · ·

This disclosure relates to a dry dressing configured to be applied on human skin. The dry dressing includes a substrate layer and a contact layer that is disposed on the substrate layer. The contact layer includes a hydrocolloid dryly formed on the substrate layer and a nutrient mixed in the hydrocolloid. The hydrocolloid includes polyvinyl alcohol and polyvinylpyrrolidone. A weight percentage of the polyvinyl alcohol and the polyvinylpyrrolidone to the hydrocolloid is not less than 96%, and a weight ratio of the polyvinyl alcohol to the polyvinylpyrrolidone ranges from 0.725 to 0.785.

HEMOSTATIC DEVICES
20230149592 · 2023-05-18 ·

Hemostatic devices for promoting blood clotting can include a substrate (e.g., gauze, textile, sponge, sponge matrix, one or more fibers, etc.), a hemostatic material disposed thereon such as kaolin clay, and a binder material such as crosslinked calcium alginate with a high guluronate monomer molar percentage disposed on the substrate to substantially retain the hemostatic material material. When the device is used to treat a bleeding wound, at least a portion of the clay material comes into contact with blood to accelerate clotting. Moreover, when exposed to blood, the binder has low solubility and retains a majority of the clay material on the gauze. A bandage that can be applied to a bleeding wound to promote blood clotting includes a flexible substrate and a gauze substrate mounted thereon.

Layer of material for a surgical end effector

A staple cartridge comprising a cartridge deck, a longitudinal slot defined within the staple cartridge, staple cavities defined in the deck, and a tissue thickness compensator is disclosed. The tissue thickness compensator comprises lumens. Each of the lumens comprise a cross-section and are formed by a tubular element. The lumens are laterally-oriented and spaced on the cartridge deck along the longitudinal axis of the staple cartridge. Each lumen extends across the width of the staple cartridge such that each lumen overlaps a plurality of the staple cavities and the longitudinal slot. The lumens are configured to collapse when pressure is applied to the lumens during a firing motion.

Zen roller

Zen Roller is manufactured to our exact specifications so the Himalayan salt barrel does not break during machining or use. The other two pieces (a surgical steel clasp, and a handle) are designed to hold the barrel while allowing for rotation—and for easy removal and/or replacement. In addition, the outer surface of the Himalayan salt barrel is highly polished to our exact specifications so it is non-abrasive to the skin.

THERAPEUTIC ARTICLE OF MANUFACTURE WITH NANOPARTICLES TO PROMOTE WOUND HEALING AND/OR ANTIMICROBIAL INFECTION CONTROL
20230137248 · 2023-05-04 ·

A therapeutic article of manufacture that includes a body having fibers treated with a mixture including metal-modified cerium oxide nanoparticles (mCNPs) and one or more of a polymeric binder, a dispersant and a stabilizer. The mCNPs have a predominant 3+ surface charge and in a range of about 3-35 nanometers (nm) in size. The mCNPs are mixed in an amount that is in a range of about 0.01 to 0.1 weight percentage of the mixture having the mCNPs and the one or more of a polymeric binder, a dispersant and a stabilizer. The metal (m) is an antimicrobial promoting metal that is non-ionizing. A method is also provided that promotes wound healing and/or antimicrobial infection control with a barrier of the therapeutic article of manufacture.

Layer of material for a surgical end effector

A staple cartridge assembly comprising a tissue thickness compensator is disclosed. The tissue thickness compensator comprises a first fibrous, woven material and a second fibrous, woven material. The first fibrous, woven material comprises a density which is different than the density of the second fibrous, woven material. The tissue thickness compensator is configured to expand upon contact with a fluid in order to apply a compressive force to tissue captured within staples.
